  • Unity Preschool in Evanston has been such a special part of our family’s life over the past two years. As a stay-at-home mom, sending my son to preschool at age 3 was the first time he had ever been away from me regularly, and the transition was emotional for both of us. The teachers at Unity met him with so much patience, kindness, and understanding during those early drop-offs and every transition since — whether it was returning after Christmas break, illness, or just getting back into routine. They always make him feel safe, cared for, and understood, and they make me feel confident that he is truly in good hands. Now at 5 years old, he has made some of his very best friends there, and I’ve even made wonderful mom friends myself. He looks forward to school and is proud to tell everyone about it. The sense of community at Unity is incredibly special. Eva, the director, pours her heart into making this school the best it can be for the children and the Evanston community. One of the things we love most is how the school teaches kindness, empathy, and community involvement from such a young age. They regularly bring in community members to teach the children about helping others and being good neighbors. Recently, Eli from Connections for the Homeless came to speak with the kids about donating items to help families in need, and on MLK Day families gathered together to make lunches for local community fridges. It feels like Unity is not only educating children, but helping raise thoughtful, compassionate little humans. We are so grateful for the love and care our family has experienced here and would recommend Unity Preschool wholeheartedly.

  • Our family is beyond thrilled with Unity! We toured three different schools before making our decision, and we are so happy we chose Unity. Our daughter, who is two and a half, has had an incredible year of growth, particularly in her language development. It truly exploded thanks to the supportive and educational environment at Unity. She has learned ways to express her emotions, like saying "I'm frustrated" when her little sister takes her toys, which has been such a milestone for us. Sometimes we are pleasantly surprised by new phrases/ideas she weaves into conversation and we ask - where did you learn that? “At School!” Unity has also helped her develop independent play skills, which, as a parent, is a dream come true! Eva and the entire staff are fantastic communicators, and I always feel comfortable bringing up any topic with them. (What other school hosts parent-teacher conferences for two year olds?!) We can't wait for our second child to join Unity when she turns two!

  • We love Unity! Our son started mid way through last school year and was made to feel welcome, supported and included from day one. The staff are wonderful and have been so accommodating to our family’s needs- they have been incredible at identifying anything that may need to be addressed in terms of our sons development and have followed up with accessible resources. Our kiddo always leaves Unity feeling excited to go back, he’s made lots of friends and the whole community is welcoming and supportive. If you are hesitant to reach out to unity for any reason, I would recommend at least setting up a tour and asking the questions, we have been stunned at the resources available for our family and how much our son has grown into himself since starting there. Thank you Unity!

  • Unity Preschool has been such a blessing for our family and 4 year old daughter who is enjoying her second year there. It is such a wonderful community of children, parents, and dedicated educators. Our daughter loves her time at school and is always sharing about the fun and enriching activities they participate in, stories they read and all the friends she spends time with. Unity is a marvelous, inclusive and close-knit preschool that cares about the students, families and the greater community deeply. They are always finding new ways to integrate themselves into the neighborhood and community which is beneficial for everyone. I couldn’t sing higher praises for the staff and leadership. Thank you, Unity!

  • Unity has been an absolute joy for our two boys and our whole family. I could not say enough about how special this school is! From the first day both our children felt loved, included, and have learnt so much really setting them up for success in Kindergarten.

  • We are in the midst of the fifth of what will be six fantastic years as a Unity Preschool family. A team of teachers and administrators have consistently done a wonderful job introducing self-reliance skills, kindness, and foundational skills for kindergarten. In addition to the traditional preschool experience, we have joined for the Unity summer bunch program every year and have also taken advantage of lunch bunch and early drop off activities. All of these are well organized and well executed by staff. Through Unity, we have developed new friendships with area families that continue expanding as our kids get older and my guess is that many of them will remain close friends for as long as we live in Evanston. We highly recommend Unity!
