  • Great place! They had foam day for kids outside - they were having an absolute blast! Meanwhile, swimming inside was awesome and the staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. Had a great swim there! Thanks!

  • Very clean and easy to get in and out. Staff are very kind and on point. I went in to sign up for a membership for my dad. If you have Disability, Food Stamps, Social Security, are over 65yo and a couple other things, you can get a discount. For me and him it was going to be $97. But because hes disabled I showed them his disability acceptance and it got us down to $55 a month. Great pools, sauna, and facility in general. A++

  • Parker is the BEST. My little boy started swim lessons last week. He is 3 in a 3-5 class with kids that all seem very comfortable in the water. My son has only swam in the water with family members, and while he is comfortable with us, he was very hesitant to get in the water during his swim lesson last week. Parker noticed my son's fear and spent the whole lesson one on one with my son, helping him feel at ease. I am so grateful and so glad that I found this YMCA for swim lessons, and that Parker is on staff to help my little boy feel more confident and safe in the water. Thank you, Parker!

  • I’ve been going to this location for quite a while and I’ve honestly had no issues with it. A few months ago, I started to notice the amount of children that are inside of the gym workout area. These kids are ranging between maybe 7 to 14 years old. There is never a parent around, it’s super unsafe for the kids to be playing around weights or using weights and not knowing how to use them properly out of the many times that I have seen kids in there. No one is being told to be with a parent. I have seen many adults waiting to use machines because there’s a child playing on it.

  • I live different months in MN & PA states & here, using the Y pool to ease joints/back issues. This is no doubt the best Y w/its clean, modern locker/shower facilities, kid's pool with slides, with friendly staff. But, there's ONLY ONE 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they still had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, the lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is ONLY ONE pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is opened fr 5:15 till closing at 8pm weekdays or 6/4pm weekends, closed only on Fridays for 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours (15 hrs a week) a day. The management of Hendricks Y should reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

  • Nice gym. Great until the last hour or so when the herd of kids are left to play on the free weights and machineswith zero help from the staff. And apparently you can park on the leg press for over an hour if you're BSing with the the kid "working" the gym desk. Otherwise still a nice gym. Now adding 24/7 access too.
