Wouldn’t recommend if your child is autistic. My son was only 2 years old at the time, before his diagnosis, and I had no clue he was on the spectrum—I just thought he preferred independent play. He was put out on day 3, and they claimed his teacher was leaving, but sent me three separate videos of him screaming and crying while no one comforted or helped him and allowed him to sit with puffy eyes and snot on his face from crying. Instead of trying to calm him or show patience, they seemed aggravated and recorded him like he was a problem, saying he was “disrupting nap time” and couldn’t stay any longer. There were so many other ways they could’ve helped him. The daycare has multiple levels, and one room with toys could’ve easily kept him quiet and comfortable. Instead, they sent him to a basement area with no toys in sight. They even allowed him to play in his pamper—something any 2-year-old might do—instead of simply redirecting him by taking his hand out. He listens and understands; he just couldn’t talk yet. My son has never had a single behavior complaint at any other center and is now 4 years old and doing great. I truly believe they only have patience for children who aren’t on the spectrum. They came off very welcoming and claimed they could handle all kids when I mentioned he wasn’t big on peer play, but their actions proved otherwise. I highly wouldn’t recommend this place. I never got to share my experience before, but I am now—and I’ll also be filing a report. If you’re looking for a Black-owned ABA center, there’s one just 2 minutes away that’s amazing, patient, and truly cares about helping our children who may need a little more support. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and dedicated to each child’s development. I’ve seen so much growth in my daughter’s social skills, learning, and confidence since she started here. The facility is clean, organized, and always feels warm and welcoming. It’s clear that the teachers and staff truly care about the children and their well-being. I’m so thankful for everything they do for my daughter and the peace of mind they give me as a parent. Hug A Bear is amazing, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality childcare!

They loved her, taught her, cared for her for the last 3 years. It’s time for her to start kindergarten now but we will miss them. They literally prepared her for 1st grade she’s reading doing math she speaks so well she manages her emotions better than me at times. THANK YALL A THOUSAND TIMES OVER !!!!!
Jessika MillsJul 10, 2024The most amazing childcare in the Indianapolis area. Your child is guaranteed to come home knowing new things they’ve learned on day one! My daughter was there from 2 and a half until she went on to kindergarten and wants to go back lol! Very family oriented and they love and nurture every child that walks in the door. We absolutely love them!!! 10/10 highly recommend!!!!!!!
Kiki Rene'Oct 24, 2023I absolutely love Hug a Bear! My daughter attended the early learning center from the age 1 until it was time for her to go to Kindergarten! We lived quite a distance but it was worth the drive for peace of mind that my child was under great care. She was well prepared for Kindergarten due to their curriculum. The class sizes are small and they work with each child at their level to prepare them for elementary. I would highly recommend them for your childcare needs.
Lindsay ReedOct 5, 2023A teacher at my daughter’s old daycare recommended Hug A Bear to me and I am still grateful to this day. The love and care that the staff shows is phenomenal! My daughter loved her teachers and the curriculum. She learned so much there that she would get mad because she wanted more homework.😊 I think that says a lot about Hug A Bear and how passionate the teachers are about educating the students while instilling Christian values that my daughter still uses today. My daughter is in Kindergarten now and she is “ROCKING IT”as her teacher said with the classwork and assessment testing and I owe all of that to the teachers at Hug A Bear who prepared her for greatness! They have been a blessing to me and my family!! I recommend them to ALL 1000%!!!!
