Safety Concerns I would not recommend this center due to safety concerns. There were multiple occasions where supervision seemed lacking, which is extremely concerning for a childcare setting. Safety should always come first, and I didn’t feel confident leaving my child here. The staff seemed overwhelmed and, at times, unprofessional. I noticed a lack of patience with the children, which made me uncomfortable. A childcare environment should be nurturing, and that wasn’t my experience. Cleanliness was a major issue for me. The facility often appeared unkempt, and I didn’t feel it met the standards I expect for a place caring for young children. Communication with management was frustrating. Important updates weren’t shared in a timely manner, and it was difficult to get clear answers when I had questions. While some staff members were kind, overall my experience was not positive. There were ongoing issues with communication and consistency. The pay rate of $11.50 per hour is not appropriate for the level of responsibility required in childcare. Caring for children is demanding and important work, and the compensation did not reflect that $11.50 an hour to care for children is simply not fair compensation. The pay is far too low for the workload and responsibility expected.
Kyra BroadwaterApr 6, 2026Mas Lil Champs Learning Academy is such a wonderful school! Everyone is so kind & welcoming. The children adore their teachers! The teachers & staff show so much love to their students! Such an awesome place to enroll your child!😊
Nina AtilanoApr 4, 2023This place is absolutely foul! There is no desire or push to make any kind of personal relationship with the children. The priority here is only to meet basic needs. No fun no kindness no caring. The front office ladies are the worst people I have ever met. Straight up mean and need to find a new job. Just so everyone knows, some of these five star reviews are made from the assistant director’s daughters and the teacher in the daycare. Don’t take your kids here if you want them to be happy or have fun.
Ally ReedApr 14, 2022My little girl has been coming to this establishment since she was a little over one. She is 4 now. She has had some rough patches with crying fits and sometimes screaming if she is unhappy. The teachers were very understanding and kept me advised of her daily shennigans. I originally took her there for only 3 days a week. I have since changed her to full time. Since then her overall behavior has changed, for the better. She looks forward to going every day to see her friends and teachers. It does kinda suck for the little ones with the high turn around for the staff. She has grown close to some of them and the next they were gone :(. With that said, it makes sense. The summer programs are great as well! They have a weekly schedule for movie day, Kona Ice day and sprinkler day! She wakes up happy every morning since I began taking her full time. Would recommend to anyone!
Aimee GrahamAug 1, 2019I was referred to this place by my sister in law and her friend. I researched other daycares in the area and decided that this one was the best choice for my daughter because of the location and I really liked the overall layout of the facility. I like that they have video monitoring and I was able to watch my daughter when I brought her here at 3 years old. At first, she had difficulty transitioning from Grandma's house to a school, but I really loved and appreciated that in the mornings, Ms. Shelby always comforted my daughter. Ms. Shelby is one of the reasons why I'm going to send my second daughter there as well, even though we're moving to Chesterton because she's an amazing teacher and genuinely cares about children and their development. Ms. Andie also came along and was a wonderful teacher to my daughter. You can just tell how much they love their jobs and the children by their consistently cheerful demeanor, even when my daughter is not acting appropriately. My daughter is more than prepared for Kindergarten now and I know my second daughter will be treated just as well. I also love that this facility is open at 6 am because I work in Chicago and need to drop off my children asap in the morning to get ahead of the worst traffic. The staff is all wonderful and I'm always informed of any incidents immediately which I also appreciate. I like the daily reports so that I know if/what she's eating on a regular basis. This facility has been great for me and my daughter and I have no complaints really. I feel like my money is well spent here because of how wonderful the teachers are and how adored my daughter is. I would recommend this place to any other working parents who are looking for a trustworthy facility to take care of their children while at work. I can't wait to watch my second daughter grow and learn from these amazing teachers.
C BerrymanJun 18, 2019I'm really not understanding the bad reviews, but my daughter started there a bit after she turned 1. She is still there now. At that age, their immune system is adjusting to all the whackiness/sicknesses of others. My daughter caught pneumonia and there were other little ones there who were sick as well. When she hit orange room(older than the 1 year olds), by then, her immune system was adjusting alot better. Now she is in green room and loves being there, especially if she knows her friends are going to be there. It's clean, and like other facilities, teachers don't stay so long, ....just like Nursing homes....and even the at the most AWESOME nursing homes, CNAs don't stay forever. Anyways, my only complaint will be tuition. Lol, but everywhere else is pricey as well if you don't have a Hoosier card/daycare voucher. I do love how Ms. Suzie and Ms. Angela eyes everyone at the door when parents/guardians pick up their children....even if they know darnwell you are the child's parent. It sucks that others really had a terrible experience here, and this is my second child that attended Ma's.
