  • Do NOT send your children here. My daughter went for 4 years and we had nothing but problems. The director literally doesn’t care about your kid and will always ignore your concerns. Especially if your concerns are your child being bullied.not to mention how unprepared my child is for kindergarten because they do not teach them anything. It’s just play all day and the pre k teacher acts like she is overwhelmed and can’t handle teaching children.

  • I can't say enough positive things about Sonshine Kids Daycare Ministry. I have been sending my kids there for almost 2.5 years now since both of them were infants. They have made so many improvements since I enrolled my first child during COVID in Jan of 2021, especially in just the past year alone. They have competitive rates and it shows when it comes to the quality of care the children are receiving day in and day out. You honestly can't put a price tag on being comfortable and confident in your children's care (from infants to older children). My oldest is learning so much every day and I love that they incorporate christ-centered education into the curriculum even with kids younger than preschool age. They offer a variety of activities & lessons both indoor and outdoors to keep the children active and involved. My oldest has made so many new friends with the kids in her class and even in the other classes. I myself have also made some great friends with the other children's parents, who are super friendly. The staff has honestly become like family to me and are outstanding in terms of creating a safe, caring and enjoyable learning environment for my kiddos. I am a very involved parent so having these positive relationships with the staff means alot to me and makes me comfortable knowing my kids are fully cared for and that my opinion and wants as a parent matters in their daily care. I love that they use an app called Procare that allows me to follow along with my children's food intake, diaper changes/bathroom breaks, naps, activities and pictures. I would 10/10 recommend Sonshine Kids Daycare Ministry.

  • I adore this daycare. In the past few years a lot has change for the better. They were competent and loving to the kids before but now there is new management, wonderful new staff members, and a new curriculum. I’m constantly getting told my daughter knows so much for a 2 year old and it’s truly how much they teach the kids. They use an app now - Procare - which is excellent. My husband and I moved away 6 months ago and I’m still wishing we could get into a daycare this good.

  • There was a time when Sonshine Daycare/Preschool did a good job. Unfortunately they lost some of their good teachers and now I feel it is just a Daycare. My Granddaughter was there from age 13 months until we took her out one month before she turns 5 years old. I can’t believe how unprepared she is for Kindergarten. I am working with her to prepare for her entering Kindergarten.

  • I thought this would be a great place to take my kid, but after learning that the person who currently leads the daycare Lisa Carter, does not run the daycare correctly. I will not be taking my kids here because of the mismanagement and mold being found in the rooms where the children are. Staff failed to mention to the parents about the mold, we were left in the dark and had no idea. Dirty place that is not ran the correct way, I would not take my kid here if it was the last daycare in Martinsville.
