  • One star, because I feel like you guys can do a lot better with protecting women in sexual harassment in that place. And men harassing women and disrespecting i said it because I've been disrespected. I had the experience in that place.

  • Gym has essentially everything you could want/need but is commonly (until 3 - 9 PM anyways) full of very unmonitored, noisy, disrespectful adolescents. Equipment is commonly uncleaned after these creatures leave so be prepared to clean up after random people's children. Other than that, it's decent.

  • I have been a long time member of the Muncie Area YMCA, and have frequently been disappointed, and had issues with both their facilities and staff. Now, I would normally be ready to rate their consulted facility a 1 star for many many reasons, but decided to give it two, and here's why... First, the facility is a fraction of what was promised, and isn't nearly as big as it's looks from the outside. The workout area is pretty limited and feels smaller and has the same-ish amount of equipment that Northwest had, which was never enough even at NW. The layout is weird and very confusing. And the gym is literally the same size as Northwest's was. This project was a significant downgrade in almost every sense, and the public frequently rallied against many of the poor decisions made, yet we were ignored. The exercise schedules are not great, but not terrible. They clearly favor retired older adults, and leave very little for working adults, but this is nothing new for the Muncie Area Y's. Losing out on the 6 tennis/pickleball courts was a HUGE blow to the YMCA in general. The 3 pickleball "courts" at this facility are not only a joke, but only available for pickleball a couple hours a week...during most people's work schedules. Now, enough beating a dead horse, it's time to say why I gave this facility 2 stars over 1. First, the locker/changing rooms are very well designed, and a very nice change from the normal gym locker rooms. The private bathroom/shower room for individuals, and there being tons of them, is very nice. Second, the staff (I realize most are underpaid and are giving crappy hours) here have been leaps and bounds better than the staff I dealt with at NW. Also, the instructors are great and very friendly, and the classes I've been able to attend have been really well done. That is all.

  • Gym has gone downhill. Night gym with the 24 hour pass is overcrowded now with tons of people coming in while just 1 person scans. They clearly aren't all paying the extra fees. Also people are just being plain nasty leaving tampons on the treadmills. YMCA really needs to check people. If someone who scanned is fooling around in the gym easy to catch, but what about the 20 people who dont scan each night brought in by friends.

  • The people that work there are overall pretty cool. It's normally crowded. The pool schedule is very inconsistent and tough to deal with. They often loan the pool out to other organizations. I get a flyer for a water Easter egg hunt for kids. My daughter is excited for weeks and we go showing up in her bathing bathing suit and they tell her she can't go because she wasn't pre-registered. The flyer said nothing about pre-registering or registrationat all. We're not mind readers. Pretty messed up to reject a kid like that though.
