  • The Barn has been a truly amazing first school experience for our child! As a “non-traditional” family, we’ve always felt seen and fully included in the Barn’s warm and welcoming community and we appreciate how every child’s background and family story are honored here.

  • We love the Acton Barn! The teachers are caring, patient, and really dedicated to the kids. The outdoor space is amazing - our son comes home every day with stories about playing in the woods, digging in the sand, and exploring nature with friends. You can tell how much the teachers are dedicated to making the students feel welcomed and safe. Would recommend this school to all families!

  • Our family absolutely loves the Acton Barn School. From the moment we joined, we felt welcomed into such a thoughtful and inclusive community. The teachers are incredibly dedicated, they meet each child exactly where they are, helping them grow with patience, creativity, and care. We especially appreciate the slow and gentle start to the school year, which made the transition so smooth for our child (and for us!). It’s a place that truly honors childhood, filled with kindness, play, and genuine connection. We couldn’t be happier to be part of the Barn family.

  • All three of my children have attended preschool at Acton Barn Cooperative Preschool, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the school, teachers, and director. We love being a part of the welcoming community there and seeing our children thrive in the nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and play while still ensuring each child is prepared for kindergarten.

  • Fantastic preschool! Both my kids learned formative social and educational skills, and had a wonderful time. The cooperative structure means you're more involved and part of a really great community.

  • We have been members of the Barn for the past year. As new members of the Acton-Boxborough community, we have loved having our preschool home at the Barn. The curriculum is play-based, the teachers are very nurturing, and the facility is lovely and inspires creative play. My daughter loves the climber inside and the play kitchen. The outdoor play area is so fun for the kids. As a cooperative preschool, my commitment is to work about once a month in the classroom.
