  • First off I want to say this camp is amazing and its staff. There were two separate situations in which something had happened to MY SON. One was a medical emergency but both times the camp nurse Caitlin had called me right away and let me know what was going on and asked if it was OK to give him some Tylenol or something cause he had hit his head and explained to me what to look for afterwards thankfully he was OK. The second situation was a true medical emergency in which MY SON’s heart rate was running dangerously high he thankfully knew himself something was wrong but In which again the nurse Caitlin had called me once again and told me basically not only out of precaution but because of how high his heart rate was, they called 911 right away and EMS/ambulance was there in maybe less five minutes after that once again, the nurse explained to me what had happened where I would like him to go just made the whole processes smooth, especially in a situation like this or even the other situation. I also wanted to add that the Assistant camp director, Mrs.Goodwin went in the ambulance with him because we could not get there right away and so he wasn’t alone in this scary situation, She called me and also Let me know what was going on what hospital and everything and even after the fact she continued to checkup on him to see how he was doing. I also want to add that the camp Director Mrs. Pritchard went out of her way and drove her own car to the hospital that MY SON had gone to To make sure he was all right and other kids were asking if he was OK as well. I write this. Because more often than not because we’re so busy with life and everything we don’t get acknowledged for certain things in certain situations and myself as a parent, don’t usually have the time or forget to acknowledge these situations. I just want people to know who are you going to this camp, Have ever thought about going to this camp or are current campers returning to this camp that it is amazing truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had and I will continue to keep sending MY SON as he’s gone for the past would be three or four years. so thank you again to the camp nurse Caitlin, to Mrs.Goodwin, the assistant camp Director and to the Camp Director Mrs. Pritchard ,all the concerned kids (friends) and any other staff that was involved in this whole process as he is OK, thankfully but because of their quick actions and decision-making, everything turned out great and went smoothly.God bless each and everyone of you and to whoever reads this I hope it helps ease your mind when sending your child to Camp Yomechas.

  • Great little spot for the kids to enjoy and cook off on a hot summer day 😊 Staff is attentive and kind. The bathrooms and other facilities are always clean and well taken care of.

  • A nice camp from visiting, but not an affordable option for even the most low income families with a single disabled parent. I can't speak of the camp experience because it's only an option for families that can afford close to $200/week out of pocket. The most they can offer is more than half of a low income family's income. I hope people who donate thinking they're helping children attend see this.

  • This camp has unfortunately continued to go downhill year after year. The cost of the camp however continues to climb year after year. For the price you’re paying you expect the outcome to be nothing amazing. This summer however has been our worst experience yet. My daughter’s lunch is continuously getting stolen. The stories my children share with me about other children’s behavior is atrocious. Fighting, swearing, bullying and theft is not what I expected. The counselors can’t seem to keep things in order. I can only hope your children’s experience is better than mines. If give. The option and or opportunity perhaps it’s in your child’s best interest to experience elsewhere.

  • Camp Yomechas located on Tispaquit Lake in Middleboro is a great hidden oasis for families of the Old Colony YMCA! Sign your child up for camp here and they are sure to have a great time!!! They offer 2 outdoor pools, recreational areas for sports, arts and crafts, horseback riding for an additional charge, and canoeing on the lake!
