  • As a parent and a professional who works in the education and mental health fields. I completely agree with Reviewer X. I was very concerned with what I observed at ECDS. The reality is very different from how they present themselves. They are extremely inflexible and all about the optics. I was concerned on day one when I witnessed and heard extremely rigid rules. ECDS staff are unprofessional and uneducated. They do not understand age appropriate behavior or childhood development. I saw a lack of patience, play, and making learning fun. It appears that kids are expected to sit most of the day, and there are very few movement breaks during the day. Also negative behavior is called out frequently and made into a big deal instead of it being a teachable moment. ECDS staff could really use some education and professional development on how to best work with, appropriately redirect, and teach preschoolers. Their rules and expectations are not age appropriate for preschoolers. I also observed staff who do not seem interested in building a rapport and connection with certain students. Despite what the director or website says, social emotional skills are not being taught there. They are only focused on academics. There is also an obsession with germs and cleanliness. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

  • Deeply Concerning Environment for Young Children As a parent/former student/member of the community, I feel compelled to speak out. This school presented itself as a nurturing environment, but the reality was very different. The culture here was emotionally damaging for many young children. Concerns about rigid discipline, lack of empathy, labeling, favoritism and an overall toxic atmosphere were brushed aside or ignored consistently throughout the school year. Instead of fostering confidence and emotional growth, young students were often left anxious, unsupported, and in some cases, fearful. Communication with caregivers was highly unprofessional and inconsistent while feedback from students was routinely dismissed. Children deserve a space where they feel safe, understood, and valued. Unfortunately, this school failed on all those fronts. This is terrible to have to write. I strongly urge any parent considering enrollment to ask hard questions, talk to other families, and look very closely before making a decision.

  • My oldest daughter completed nursery school at ECD last year and will be starting the pre school program next week. My middle daughter will be starting nursery school next week as well. ECD is clean, organized, small class rooms, great education. They keep things fun for the children while they grow and learn. Shauna is so nice and responsive to any messages sent to her at any time of day. Cannot say enough great things about this school!

  • We registered our youngest for the Kindergarten program this school year per the suggestion of many local moms. I am thrilled that we did! Shauna is a fabulous instructor and it is clear that she has a passion for teaching and her students. Our daughter loves school and asks us on Saturdays and Sundays if today is a school day.
