Groton Community School

Groton Community School is an amazing place that truly puts students first. As a parent, it means so much to see how much my son loves going to Groton Community School every day. He feels happy, safe, and excited to learn, which says a lot about the environment the school creates. The teachers are supportive, encouraging, and genuinely care about each student’s success, both academically and personally. There is a strong sense of community, and everyone is welcoming and respectful. The school offers great learning opportunities and activities that help students grow and build confidence. Groton Community School makes a real difference in students’ lives, and I’m incredibly grateful that my son gets to be part of such a wonderful school.

GCS is the best! Between our two boys, we have been fortunate to experience several different classrooms and teachers throughout the years and I can easily say that GCS employs the highest quality, most caring staff. The teachers put so much thought into every activity that kids don't even realize they are learning and developing fine motor skills while having fun. The school was recently renovated and is always impeccably clean and organized. It is just a happy place to be!

My grandchildren have been fortunate to attend Groton Community School. It has been such a positive experience to drop them off and to know they are benefiting from a quality program with a professional and committed staff. I worked in Early Intervention for 20 years and provided services to children in a variety of community programs. I have seen the best and the worst programs and GCS certainly ranks with the best. The classroom and outside environment are always set up with a variety of interesting activities meant to actively engage and challenge the child, foster skills in all developmental domains and encourage social growth. Even when observing “free play” you can see the underlying structure and well thought out strategies that keep things running smoothly and minimize the need for “classroom management.” The staff are warm and welcoming to both children and adults. However, the best endorsement is how eager my grandchildren have been to go to GCS and how excitedly they recount their day at pick up time.

Groton Community School provides a warm and nurturing environment for both the students and their families. The minute you walk through the doors, you are greeted by friendly staff who know your child and family and greet you by name. The teachers are fantastic and the longevity of the staff speaks volumes about the sense of community and commitment within the school. As students, our children have thrived socially, emotionally, and academically. We look forward to a long relationship with the school, families, and staff!
