I’m disappointed by what happened in the music class at Haggerty School. The teacher, Susanne Petrov, had students replace the word “Africa” with “ah‑ah” for “inclusion.” That is not inclusive, it sends the wrong message to children about culture and identity. Our kids deserve accurate representation, not avoidance. I hope the school leadership steps in and corrects this quickly!!!
Salina HJun 5, 2026Greetings fellow humans , raising children in general is not an easy task if you don't have a village collaboration, further more imagine raising kiddos with special needs my own child was non verbal at approximately age 3 she was diagnosed with ASD and global developmental delayed in February 2022. Mom lives in Lincoln , MA I live in cambridge she was accepted at Cambridgeport School special start in April 2022 amazing school starting with the front desk Maria , teachers Samantha and Melissa and the rest of the team did an amazing work with my child , she started to evolve positively at that school , then in 2024 she had to transitioned to King Open , i.have nothing positive to say about that school but that the special needs teachers need more training and front desk staff needs classes for " professionalism etiquette" after one year horrific experience I decided to send her to live with mom in Lincoln , Massachusetts, as I was also dealing with some mental health issues. She transferred to Lincoln Public from September 2024 until December 2025 They don't treat all students the same , I will leave it as that , only human being there with love and care was the school psychologist Ms.Clune but she changed jobs during our stay there , My child was denied access to her studies because of her irregulation , no summer school classes but was suspended and accused of assault on staff mind you my child was between 5-6 years old for them to use that harsh terminology, there was zero interest from these fellow human beings to try on helping my child , they decided to send her out of district , I visited like 5 schools , 4 denied her because of her record at Lincoln public school and the only one that accepted her was too far I said no thanks , I felt in my heart that it was time for me to step in and bring her back home for her own benefit , I spoke to the Cambridge Registration department regarding my concerns and my bad past experiences with King Open as I was pursuing a transfer. ( I had to give content to explain our trajectory ) I was assigned to the Haggerty School , they asked if I wanted to meet the folks who lead the program, I said yes , wonderful wonderful wonderful human beings I will not mention their ethnicity because they treated me just like another human like themselves but with an accent , my daughter started their scale program december 1st , 2025 , and almost 2 months into the school year , I am in awe of how excellent this transitioned has gone , special gratitude to : Meghan , Siobhan , Erica , and of course Alanna her lead teacher and team , Lisa their liason always finds time to say hello when I am around , all humans like to be appreciated, well this school makes sure to treat you in a humane way with professionalism, empathy , care and equality for all regardless of your place of birth , if you are a human you child will be treated well at this Learning facility which specializes in inclusion. Haggerty School personnel, staff , teachers and everyone who contributes to the development and the management of the daily activities of this school , we Thank you for your services to all , knowing that we are not paying you enough for what you do , this is your gift and sincere passion to serve in this category. 🙏🙏🙏
Marcos SantanaJan 31, 2026This is actually for the Haggarty Elementary School (K-5) while there is also a pre-school attached to it run by CDSP. Both are fantastic schools. From week 1 of Kindergarten (a few years ago), the principle (Nancy) and school liaison (Lissa) were greeting my child by name - I knew it would be a great place for our family. My child loves it, and as parents we've really enjoyed being a part of the school community.

sadia abdiJun 12, 2019My son completed kindergarten at Haggerty last year. It was the best experience any parent could have wished for. Almost immediately the principal could greet my son by name at the front door (and his younger sister who didn't even attend there)! There were many wonderful events that the school hosted like movie nights that really allowed families to bond with each other, by the end of the year many of his classmates parents became great friends! The size is perfect for elementary ages, it always felt warm and welcoming. The school liaison Ms. Lissa Galluccio was amazing, a great resource for parents. His teacher Ms. Doherty and assistant teacher Ms. Martin were both extremely supportive, kind and thoughtful. We visited other Cambridge schools but this one was our first pick even though it was further, and we didn't regret it!
