  • I enrolled my child at this daycare hoping he would be cared for in a nurturing and supportive environment. Unfortunately, my experience raised concerns that led me to withdraw him. While speaking with a staff member after drop-off, I overheard another staff member respond to my son’s crying by saying, “Who is crying like that?” and then, after realizing it was my child, saying, “That’s the new kid.” What concerned me most was that no effort was made at that moment to check on him or comfort him while he was clearly upset and struggling to adjust. Other staff members were present during this interaction, and no one addressed the comment at the time. I later brought my concerns to management. While I was told the matter had been addressed, I did not feel that the seriousness of the situation was fully acknowledged. I understand that adjusting to daycare can be difficult for young children, especially those entering a new environment. My expectation was that staff would respond with patience, compassion, and reassurance. I am sharing my experience so that other parents can make an informed decision and ask questions about how children who are having a hard time adjusting are supported.
