We couldn’t be happier with this school! My son has been there since month 4 you can really tell how much love and caring the staff are giving to the kids. My son has learned so much and is developing so well with the Montessori approach they use. It’s such a warm and supportive place. Highly recommend to any parent looking for great care and early learning for their little one!

It emphasizes concentration, self-regulation, and holistic development (cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and practical life skills). Prepared environments with guiding teachers aim to cultivate intrinsic motivation and a love of learning, while helping children become ready for real-world tasks and future schooling.

Martha, one of the teachers at La Petite, has extraordinary insight about young children. She understands their behaviors and knows how to teach them. Martha has a special gift and the children are so lucky.

Our daughter has been at La Petite since she was 2 (and is now almost 4) and our son started here as well at 4 months. We love this school. The teachers a warm, loving, and committed, the space is beautiful and well-equipped with age appropriate toys and games, and the Montessori approach has really helped our children grow and develop into kind, independent, and curious kids. We can't recommend this school enough for anyone looking for quality care (at a not unreasonable price) here in Somerville.

We had a terrible experience at this daycare. The owner belittled us and did not work with us in supporting our son's needs, who has now been diagnosed as ASD. He also escaped the daycare onto a busy main road, thank god he was brought back by a passing stranger and wasn't harmed. Our son was eventually kicked out of the daycare because of a complete breakdown in communication between us and the owner. It has taken us a long time to bounce back from this upsetting ordeal and luckily our son is in a better place for his needs now.
