  • Mustard Seed Montessori has been one of the best things to happen to our family. Our son currently attends MSM after being terminated from two center-based daycare programs. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with center-based daycares, they simply weren’t the right fit for him. He struggled with the constant transitions, noise, and overstimulation. He wasn’t connecting with his teachers or peers, and we found ourselves signing behavior reports almost daily. Toward the end, he was being sent home regularly because he wouldn’t nap. One of his previous providers suggested that a Montessori environment might be a better fit due to its slower pace, emphasis on independence, and child-led learning approach. That’s when we began our search and discovered Mustard Seed Montessori. The website was easy to navigate, and I loved that we could schedule a tour online—perfect for a millennial like me who prefers online booking over phone calls! MSM is located at Bedford Street Church on the Abington/Whitman line. During our tour, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Leslie, the director, and Ms. Claudette, her teaching assistant. One thing I especially appreciated was that we were encouraged to bring our son along so we could see how he interacted with the teachers and students. The moment we entered the classroom, our son sat down and immediately began engaging with the other children. There were only a handful of students present, and each child was independently focused on different activities. Ms. Leslie walked us through the classroom, explaining each area and its purpose within the Montessori model. It was clear how knowledgeable and passionate she is about Montessori education—everything in the classroom had intention and meaning. What stood out most was how naturally our son fit into the environment. It felt as though he had belonged there all along. We’ve been part of the Mustard Seed Montessori family for about a month now. Aside from one small hiccup on his first day, which Ms. Leslie handled with patience and expertise, we haven’t had any issues. Our son is excited to go to school every morning. He loves his teachers, enjoys interacting with his peers, and is genuinely engaged in his work. He’s learning valuable life skills, becoming more independent, and most importantly, he feels safe. As parents, that’s all we’ve ever wanted. We knew it would take the right environment for him to feel comfortable enough to show the incredible child he truly is. Thank you, Ms. Leslie and Ms. Claudette, for everything you do. The impact you’ve already had on our son is immeasurable. I truly believe he will remember you for the rest of his life. Thank you for being such an important part of his journey.

  • My husband and I absolutely love Mustard Seeds Montessori! As both a parent and a Montessori teacher, I truly appreciate the calm, small classroom environment and the individualized attention each child receives. Our daughter Ariah is always happy and excited to go to school, which says so much about the caring teachers and positive atmosphere. Seeing her comfortable, confident, and learning every day gives us so much peace as parents. Highly recommend! Gennica &John Datilus

  • This program is a blessing. My 4yr old was struggling emotionally at his previous preschool. From day one, he was relaxed, curious, involved, and happy. I've witnessed the staff encourage, and be flexible in their teaching. He tells us he likes his teachers and his friends. He is sharing his newfound learning with us. His speech and language have improved. His emotional regulation has improved. I am tearing up as I write this because Mustard Seed Montessori has become an important part of the village that is helping our family raise our little man into a person who will be successful, kind, smart, faithful, and happy in his world.

  • What a blessing it has been to have women of faith educating my children through a truly holistic approach to learning. The environment is nurturing, supportive, and encouraging, and I have complete peace of mind knowing my children are safe and genuinely well cared for. The school strongly promotes community, health, and personal growth while helping my children develop independence through practical life skills such as household responsibilities. They are learning meaningful concepts that will serve them well throughout life, all while being encouraged to love learning, play cooperatively, and grow with confidence. Any family would be abundantly blessed by having their children attend Mustard Seeds Montessori School.
