Newtowne Cooperative Preschool in Cambridge has been an amazing fit for our family. The teachers and staff are warm, thoughtful, and deeply committed to the kids. We love the student-led curriculum—children are encouraged to explore their interests, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning in a way that is both playful and purposeful. Their daily routine helps the kids feel secure while still leaving plenty of room for creativity and discovery. It’s also wonderfully accepting and welcoming; you can feel the community the moment you walk in. We’ve been blown away by the carefully curated activities and lessons that foster creativity and critical thinking. We’re truly grateful for our experience here and highly recommend it.
Bre CruzJan 7, 2026We absolutely love this school and community. Our daughter started school here two years ago and we can't wait for our son to enroll in the Fall. The teachers are excellent, they take time to know your child and support their needs, and our family has been very happy with the whole experience.
Isadora LevyJan 5, 2026Absolutely in love with Newtowne School! From day one, this preschool has felt like a joyful extension of our family. The moment we walked through the doors, we were met with warmth, genuine care, and an atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcomed and supported. Newtowne is an Reggio-Emilia-inspired preschool — a philosophy that honors children as curious, capable, and creative learners. Every day, my son comes home excited about the discoveries he’s made through play, inquiry, and exploration, and I love seeing how his confidence and social skills are flourishing in such a nurturing environment. Teachers thoughtfully follow the children’s interests, support their questions, and help them express themselves through art, movement, storytelling, and natural play — all of which feels so meaningful and rich. The community here is so special. The teachers build warm, trusting relationships with the kids and families, and you can really feel the collaborative spirit and care in everything they do. It’s such a joy to be part of a place that celebrates every child’s unique way of learning and growing. 💛 We’re beyond grateful for the kindness, inspiration, and thoughtful learning environment Newtowne provides — it’s truly a magical place for young children to thrive!
Magdalena FuchsJan 2, 2026We sent both our kids to Newtowne and had a wonderful experience. The teachers are full of energy and very thoughtful with curriculum. They have a younger classroom for 2 year olds that was unique and wonderful. Highly recommend.
Kevin BordenDec 16, 2022My daughter started at Newtowne as a 3-year-old with no previous group care experience, and she has absolutely thrived in this setting. The teachers and director are all exceptional people- so knowledgable, kind, and approachable. Every time I go into the school I am amazed by the thoughtful and creative activities her teachers have been engaging her in, in addition to her weekly music and studio time. Newtowne also excels at communication with parents- we get weekly school newsletters and each classroom has a blog so we can follow along with what my daughter is learning, in addition to daily check ins with teachers at drop off and pick up. A great community of people who really care about young children.
Megan TeodosioDec 14, 2022Our daughter has been at Newtowne for two years now and I cannot sing it's praises highly enough. The teachers are warm and loving, and have helped my child grow socially and emotionally. The environment inspires creativity and allows the kids to explore and learn about how things work. This year her classroom has a makerspace and she has really developed an interest in building and creating things. As a first time parent, I've also found the teachers a great resource when I had questions about my child. We cannot wait until our younger child is old enough to attend Newtowne as well!
