  • We love Up Up And Play Shrewsbury! We have 3 under 3 and moved from a Boston suburb to central Mass. We had a great experience with our old childcare so finding the right one that had the “feels like home” feeling while being a small center was a must. Everyday you feel that here! Artwork everywhere, multiple playgrounds with shade, kids running around outside with laughter and pretending. Letting kids be messy, silly kids. Our kids love going to “school”. Tons of connection with the teachers throughout the day and at pick up and drop off. It feels like family here! The whole staff is greatly experienced. Special shout out to just some of the amazing teachers Ms Savannah, Ms Dageline, Ms Meghan, Ms Izzy, Ms Jasmine, Ms Liz and Ms Taylor!

  • My daughter loved her class and teachers here! She was in one of the toddler classrooms and was always excited to be there. She learned and grew a lot. We had to move out of state for work and were sad to leave!

  • My husband and I have had our kids at up up and play academy since 2019 and have experienced all classrooms from infancy to now pre-k at 2 different locations. Being new to the area and a new mom, I was overwhelmed and anxious to start the process to find someone that I could trust to watch my children. I am so happy that we found up up and play academy, especially the countryside location. It is very clean and they always seem to have new toys, furniture, and supplies in all of the classrooms. The playground is large and they have plenty of room for sledding in the winter and nature walks year round. I also like that screen time is limited to educational videos or fun music for their "dance parties" 😊 All of the teachers and assitants have been great and make my kids feel right at home. They provide good structure and have helped develop and instill various life skills and routines that I have been able to carryover at home. They are also great resources and always provide good recommendations if I have any questions or if I have concerns about developmental milestones. My kids love to go to "school" everyday and I am so appreciative of everything that they do on a daily basis for our children! I would highly recommend up up and play academy-countryside location.

  • My children have been going to UpUp And Play since 2013. All 3 of them. They are all now excelling at grade school, love physical activity and most of all have the social skills to be able to make friends. It was a sad day when my 5 year old left last year to go to grade K. Wanted to thank you for being a HUGE part of my children's development. If you are in the Worcester area and surrounding towns and need advanced child care, I would recommend UUAP !

  • All 3 of my grandsons have been at this preschool and I would recommend it to anyone. Best preschool, daycare around. The school is Charming, clean and well staffed with amazing teachers. They take time and patience to give each child the best quality of care, and learning experience. The director leads her team to achieve the most impressive and nurturing atmosphere that a child would need. When picking up my grandsons, I see such relaxed and happy children. It gives you a good feeling knowing they are so well taken care of Hands down, one of the Best!!

  • Be VERY careful here. I recently pulled my son immediately due to the treatment of him. My son started showing signs of no longer liking school (would hide in his jacket, wouldn't want to go in, wouldn't want me to leave, etc). Not too long after these behaviors started I was told by a reliable source who left their center about the treatment my son was receiving there. My son is speech delayed and unfortunately wasn't able to tell me himself. There are teachers that are handsy and very emotionally/verbally abusive towards the children. Warming up the thermometer to send them home. Screaming at the children. Grabbing them by the shirt. The list goes on. Do NOT bring your child here if they have any special needs. As someone who works with special needs, take it from me that they are NOT special needs friendly. They will expect them to act as every other child their age does regardless of their full ability to do so and if they don't, it's too much work for them and they will just try to run you out the door to replace you with an easier child. The director told me in her own words that maybe my son is just "triggered" by the center and that's why he's having a hard time. First red flag. No child should be "triggered" by their school to the point of regression. They should feel safe and happy. My son has been out of this school only about 2.5 weeks now and his speech and behavior has already improved to the point everyone around him has noticed. He is now happily pushing me out the door at his new center again and thriving! Do yourself and your child the favor and keep looking at options before even considering this place.
