Secret SpamSep 29, 2025Whiz Kids has been excellent for my 1 year old. Miss Erica is a wonderful teacher and caretaker. They have small class sizes and great facilities.
Kimberly BucknerJun 18, 2024Happened to Google whiz Kids for some info and noticed some of the bad reviews so I figured I’d chime in with something positive. We’ve been sending our kids there since we moved to Barnstable 2-3 years, they’ve always been great easy to work with and are pretty down to earth.
MichaelFeb 24, 2024WE HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT WHIZ KIDS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOOKING ELSEWHERE FOR CHILDCARE. ZERO STARS if that was possible. The only communication that we received prior to the first day of camp was a photo of a piece of paper in a text message. Whiz kids allows children to bring in devices. I have never heard of a respectable child care center allow children to use devices. The communication from the school on drop off procedures was not provided. Yet when I arrived for drop off I was yelled at the moment I stepped out of the car because I did not pull up far enough and I parked in the wrong place. The director was the one who yelled at me and she did NOT INTRODUCE HERSELF, ASK WHO MY SON WAS OR GREET US IN NICELY. I had to introduce my son and ask her name! My son goes to pre school at another school, during the school year, everyday and goes happily without any tears. At Whiz Kids my son cried hard every day for the three weeks he went there. Not only did he cry on the way to school but he cried when he woke up. Again, HE CRIED THE MOMENT HE WOKE UP THAT HE DID NOT WANT TO GO TO WHIZ KIDS. He is an easy going, happy and friendly guy. I thought he would adjust so we kept him there for almost 3 weeks. Whiz Kids did nothing to help him adjust. I asked for a name of someone in his class in hopes of having a playdate to create some excitement about going to Whiz Kids. They never provided me a name or any other assistance to help my son adjust. The only “suggestion” the director provided was that my husband and I needed to separate from my soon quickly. This is our third child and we know the drill. We know how to separate from our children at school/camp drop offs. We never lingered or took a longer time than needed to drop off. If anything some days it took more time because my son was hysterical and we struggled to get his mask on. Again they offered no assistance just telling us to leave quickly. The last day I brought my son there I gave him a two second hug before leaving and again the director instructed me that prolonging the good bye does not help. I told her that I can give him a quick hug good bye before leaving. This is when she told me that in her experience it is better not to prolong the good bye. I said that I do not need her to tell me how to say good bye to my son and that I know how to separate. At this point she said that since he’s been crying every day for 3 weeks maybe I should look elsewhere for child care. THE DIRECTOR’S RESPONSE TO A CHILD CRYING IS TO SAY WE CAN’T TAKE HIM INSTEAD OF FIGURING OUT HOW TO COMFORT HIM. Thankfully for our family and especially my son we have the resources to find other child care and I feel awful for families where Whiz Kids is their last and only option. At 3.5 years old my son could not articulate why he was so upset about going to Whiz Kids but his extremely physical response of hard crying, for someone who barely cries, is all the information that I need. He is very relieved every time I respond to his questions that no, we will not be going back to Whiz Kids. Coincidentally, the same day I left Whiz kids for the last day, we met a mother and son at a pond who told us that her son goes to Whiz Kids for camp. The mother said that although he goes to another preschool during the year happily, her son cries every day before Whiz Kids.
Melissa JacobsJul 26, 2022Fantastic Place!
Manxer MagyarJan 25, 2020I went to whiz kids and it is awesome sometimes, they take kids swimming and fun trips but, some of the teachers are mean and cruel.
