  • I greatly appreciate the staff at Academy at Galway. I was nervous about my free spirited, yet shy toddler going to pre-k after always being home with family and having one on one attention. She can be emotional and quiet. However the decision to send her was not that hard because I have had experience with Academy at Galway many years ago when my now 16 year old daughter attended. I can say I am extremely grateful and happy I made the decision to send my daughter. Just like many years ago the staff there are amazing. The nervousness I felt went away quickly. The director was extremely understanding with how nervous I was and answered all of my emails and questions. The staff kept me updated especially her first few weeks. They’re attentive. They didn’t get upset that she was more emotional and scared in the beginning. They were patient with her and as a mother that’s all I could ask for. Knowing my child is being well cared for when I am not around. My daughter comes home everyday and is excited to tell me about her day. She may have days where she’s upset that things didn’t go her way but she is learning about being kind, sharing, boundaries. All of the things she needs to be successful as she moves to kindergarten. On weekends she counts down the days until it “almost a school day!” The teachers have been helpful with my concerns and they communicate often. My shy little girl is more outgoing and now super talkative.

  • To the staff at Galway Academy, thank you! As a first time parent, I wasn’t sure if Pre-K was something my daughter actually needed, since I received a lot of mixed feedback from other parents. I researched a few places and came across Academy at Galway. Ms. Azra was prompt to respond and guided us in the transition from daycare to pre-k. She has also become a fundamental resource for navigating the grants process, kindergarten registration and before and after care elections. She has a wealth knowledge and is willing to go the extra mile to assist parents. Over the last year, I’ve had the opportunity to watch my child grow academically and work together with the teachers to help her progress. She’s made some great academic strides and amazing friends along the way. I feel my daughter is prepared for kindergarten and I owe it to Galway Academy. The staff is always seeking feedback on how to support parents and students. Parent teacher conferences allow parents to understand where their child needs more help. Teachers provided resources and academic materials to study at home. Parent engagement activities gives the opportunity for parents to participate with their children in what they are learning. I enjoyed being part of what my child was learning. It became a collaborative relationship to help my child excel. The Summer program was excellent and the addition of pool activities during this summer was something my child really enjoyed. Sitting in kindergarten orientation I felt so much relief that my child could do some of the things they required like opening a lunch box, or putting on a coat and zippering it, all because we worked together to prepare for Kindergarten. Ms. Azra and the team thanks for walking Eva through what you would call “the year of independence”. We will be back soon!

  • We are writing to share some concerns regarding our child’s recent experience at the academy. Over the past few weeks, we have noticed a decline in my daughter’s enthusiasm for school, which seems to be related to a few ongoing issues. We are particularly concerned about the lack of consistent communication from staff, especially when important matters arise. Additionally, we feel that certain behavioral or academic concerns are not being addressed in a timely or constructive manner, which impacts both my daughter progress and well-being.The staff trying to darkness my daughter future dreams it is not is for my daughter and us . We believe that with stronger collaboration between staff and families, many of these concerns could be resolved more effectively. Our goal is to see my daughter thrive in a safe, supportive learning environment, and we hope that improvements can be made moving forward. But the staff is non responsible for growing kids.

  • I highly recommend Academy Child Development Center at Galway because the teachers and staff have been wonderful. My child is excited to go to pre-k every day. They keep him busy and engaged. I found it surprising that my son wasn't singing in the holiday video they presented because he comes home singing the exact same songs! To me that's a great sign that they don't force him to do anything he's uncomfortable with but still allow him to absorb things in his own way. He is so excited to come home and show off his artwork, our walls have been overrun by all of his paintings. He genuinely looks at his teachers as his friends. We can't recommend them enough.

What does Maryland record about Academy Child Development Center at Galway's standing?

Maryland records Academy Child Development Center at Galway's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is Academy Child Development Center at Galway licensed for?

Does Academy Child Development Center at Galway operate all year?

Maryland records Academy Child Development Center at Galway as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for Academy Child Development Center at Galway?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Academy Child Development Center at Galway's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
