  • Extremely disappointed with this center. I’ve experienced repeated issues that go far beyond simple miscommunication or occasional hiccups. There have been multiple last-minute closures due to “lack of coverage” often with little warning. On several occasions, I was notified the same morning or just days before that my child’s classroom or the entire center would be closed. One recent example: during Annapolis Navy graduation week, we received a text message at 3:23 PM on a Wednesday stating the center would close at 12 PM the next day and remain closed that Friday, citing “traffic” as the reason. The actual message read: “The reason is because of the Navy graduation and so road will closers and heavy traffic.” This type of last-minute communication is completely unprofessional, avoidable, and grammatically incorrect. These closures could have easily been anticipated and communicated earlier instead of leaving parents scrambling to adjust work and childcare plans. Communication is chaotic and not secure. Rather than using a childcare app or professional platform, the administration sends group text messages and asks all parents to reply in the same thread. This is a privacy violation and reflects a serious lack of professionalism. There are also serious concerns about safety and supervision. I once arrived to find my child wearing another child’s jacket that smelled like smoke. A teaching assistant in the 1-year-old classroom didn’t even know how to put on a basic jumpsuit and I had to help dress my child myself. These aren’t minor oversights, they reflect poor training and a lack of oversight. The childcare app becomes practically useless after the infant room. I used to receive regular updates and photos, but those stopped completely once my child transitioned to the toddler room. Literally no photos, no activity logs, no meal updates, literally no communication at all. The administration also waits until the last minute to request updated immunization records, instead of providing a clear, age-based schedule at registration to help families stay compliant. The center’s hours (8:30 AM – 3:00 PM) are unrealistic for working parents. On top of that, they require frequent “home visits” and check-ins, which only add to the burden. Honestly, the only benefit is that the program is free and includes meals. But in my experience, that does not make up for the stress, poor communication, lack of consistency, and overall unprofessionalism. If you have the option, I strongly recommend applying for a Maryland state voucher and choosing a more reliable, respectful, and better-managed center. Your peace of mind is worth it.
