We had all our 3 children attend this since since 2021 until now. As parents , we are satisfied because the children feels happy to attend the school. As our 2 children already moved out of Apple Ridge and in elementary school, we see the impact in them being here first, how it has helped them to evolve into what they are today. We really like the open communication with Mrs.Alice and her involvement and the support she provides to parents to uplift the children. We really encourage and happy to refer this school to any parents , for the blessings we received by having our children here.
Melvin Vidhya AustinrajMar 2, 2026Apple Ridge Montessori School has been an amazing fit for my two sons and our family. My older son finished kindergarten last year, and my younger son is still at Apple Ridge. We are big believers in the Montessori approach, which emphasizes independence and child-directed work, within a mixed-age environment. The staff are warm and kind, and the director, Ms. Alice, is a masterful teacher. Both of my children have thrived in many ways under her guidance. As several other reviewers have noted, Apple Ridge has nurtured our children's wonder about the natural world and encouraged their excitement about learning. I cannot imagine a better start to my children's school years!
Gillian StarkeyFeb 24, 2026We have ABSOLUTELY LOVED our Apple Ridge experience! We enrolled our daughter there when she was two and half, and just coming out of the pandemic and this being our only child, we weren’t sure what to expect. We were immediately impressed with Miss Alice, her staff and the school’s core motto – “be kind, be safe, do your best work.” The students work hard and play hard. Because of her time at Apple Ridge, our daughter has developed an appreciation for nature, household chores and other cultures, particularly learning Spanish. She has grown socially and academically there, as well as forming many close friendships that we expect to continue even after she graduates from Apple Ridge.
Shantee' FelixFeb 24, 2026My son is four years old and he has been in this school for two years now. He was originally at the Goddard school and I was not impressed. Moving him here was such an amazing decision for my husband and I. We were immediately blown away by his behavior as it reflected at home. The independence that they teach, the patients, and the Wisdom is untouchable. Miss Alice the main teacher at the school is internationally trained and is extremely talented at what she does. She is loving and truly cares for each child’s individual learning experience. She plays guitar for the children and they put on such an amazing show a couple of times a year. The family aspect of all the parents whose children go here is comforting and friendly. My four-year-old is wise beyond his years and even when he is upon a group of children, I have other parents ask me that they are impressed by his independent nature and skill set. I can drop my son off and go to work and know that he is having an amazing time and getting one on one training and teachings. I am going to have him in the full program for the full three years and will truly miss the environment when he graduates. This is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life putting my son in this school.
caroline nowellFeb 22, 2026We enrolled our daughter when she was just over two and a half, and what stood out immediately was how the Montessori approach truly meets each child where they are. The teachers helped her learn how to move through a shared space respectfully, advocate for herself, and support others—all in a calm, structured environment. As working parents, we deeply appreciate Montessori’s focus on the adult as a guide—helping the child discover who they are, rather than simply telling them what to do. In her classroom, independence is encouraged within clear boundaries, helping her understand not just how to follow rules, but why they matter. Her confidence has grown tremendously. She now thrives on structure and predictable routines and has developed a love of learning all before reaching Kindergarten. The culture that the teachers cultivate for her and her classmates-first receiving support when she was younger and now offering it to others, has enabled her to show and receive sincere empathy and kindness. We would absolutely recommend this school to any family looking for an environment that prioritizes structure, independence, and emotional development.
KACEY HYNSONFeb 20, 2026Excellent montessori school near Catonsville and Arbutus. The staff is excellent and our son has really enjoyed his time at the school. Highly recommend this school if you seeking a preschool that has 0 tv's and allows children to grow at their own pace. Many thanks.

Questions parents ask about Apple Ridge Montessori School
Is Apple Ridge Montessori School a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Apple Ridge Montessori School holds Maryland licence 1746224284310x547832232432008400, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Baltimore County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to July 31, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Apple Ridge Montessori School's standing?
- Maryland records Apple Ridge Montessori School's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
Does Apple Ridge Montessori School operate all year?
- Maryland records Apple Ridge Montessori School as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Apple Ridge Montessori School?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Apple Ridge Montessori School's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
