Our child attended Bay Country for five years, and we had an excellent experience. The curriculum is comprehensive, and our child is very well-prepared for Kindergarten. We appreciated the extra activities that were offered, including the Amazing Athletes and Webby programs. The teachers and staff felt like a second family and truly care about the wellbeing of the children. We always felt safe sending our child to school. The owner and director keep the facility updated and clean - many improvements were made throughout our time at Bay Country. We are grateful to Bay Country for giving our child the best start possible - we will miss seeing the teachers and staff every day!
Karen WagnerAug 25, 2025I had the pleasure of visiting four different rooms during Bay Country’s parent open house to see my two children and my two nephews (my little niece also attends, but she was napping!) In each classroom, I saw loving and caring teachers engaging with their students through fun and educational activities. My children and nephews were excited to show off their classrooms and all they have learned. I feel blessed to have my little loved ones cared for by the great staff at Bay Country.
Kimberly KontsonOct 8, 2024Great experience with Bay Country Learning Center! Very communicative staff across the board. We enjoyed taking part in the recent open house, and our son loved that we were there too. In the short hour we were there, the emphasis on a full range of age appropriate developmental learning was evident in the classroom. Our son is consistently engaged and encouraged by his teachers, and by the additional staff brought in through Bay Country's extra-curricular offerings (Webby Dance & Amazing Athletes). We see the positive impact the center, as a whole, has on our son's comprehension and behavior, and know his development and safety is in good hands!
Aubree OldsSep 27, 2024I could not speak more highly of Bay Country and all they have done to welcome and nurture my one year old (who started at Bay Country at only 9 weeks old) as well as my very anxious three year old (who we recently transitioned to BCLC). To provide some context, my three year old had a previous neglectful daycare situation, so for the last year we had been driving two hours every day to a daycare we fully trusted and adored. However, now pregnant with my third child (who will also be attending BCLC), we realized this commute was no longer feasible. I met with Ben (the new owner), both Renee and Kelly (the directors) as well as his new classroom teachers on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis. I was so anxious for my sons transition, and they all comforted me, and truly LISTENED, every single step of the way. His teachers greet him with hugs each morning, often holding him close and comforting him as needed, and give him personalized approaches throughout the day to best meet his needs. They added elements to their classroom and daily schedule just because I had shared he found success with those in his previous school. After only one week at BCLC, my son now runs into school every morning, so excited to see his "best friends and best teachers." He is engaged with a yoga class as well as a sports class every week, and his independent play reflects the lessons they are learning each day. We truly couldn't be happier or more impressed. Our one year old has now been in three classrooms, for the babies transition more frequently as they grow and develop new skills, and we have been so happy with each of them. Every time he transitions, I get emotional leaving those teachers (though he still sees them because the teachers are all friends!), only to become just as attached to his new ones. Might I also say, the classrooms are IMPECCABLY clean. They smell clean, they look and feel clean, they are all warm and inviting. I write this long review because, as both a former educator myself as well as a parent who has experienced several different daycare / preschool providers, I am so passionate about children being in a nurturing, adaptive, loving environment. If that is what you are looking for, you have found your place.
Kelsey BowenFeb 14, 2024Our 2 children have been at Bay Country Learning Center since they were each 4 months old (currently 4 yo and 1 yo). We can't say enough great things about the owners, Renee (director), and staff at Bay Country. They have an well rounded curriculum, include extra activities (i.e. Spanish class, music class, weekly sports, special guests, etc.) and most importantly they have tremendous patience and love for my children. Even during COVID, I have never been concerned that my children were not getting the best care possible and having a great time.
Jessy OtersonSep 7, 2022I've had two children attend Bay Country Learning center over the last 4 years, and we absolutely love it here! The staff are so warm and loving to the children and the center is run professionally. It is clean and reliable, and I know my kids are safe there. The academic curriculum is fun and engaging, my kids love coming home and telling me about all the things they are learning (including Spanish, music, and sign language). The center uses an app to keep parents updated, and I receive pictures and videos throughout the day. Highly recommend Bay Country Learning Center to take care of your kids!

Questions parents ask about Bay Country Learning Center
Is Bay Country Learning Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Bay Country Learning Center holds Maryland licence 1746219156203x916172360715425500, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Anne Arundel County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to January 31, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Bay Country Learning Center's standing?
- Maryland records Bay Country Learning Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is Bay Country Learning Center licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 30 infant places for Bay Country Learning Center. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does Bay Country Learning Center operate all year?
- Maryland records Bay Country Learning Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Bay Country Learning Center?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Bay Country Learning Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
