Recent parent reviews

  • Our family was part of this daycare community for years, which makes this review especially difficult to write. The program was once warm, engaging, well-communicated, and deeply trusted by many families. Unfortunately, within roughly six months following changes in leadership involvement, there was a rapid and very noticeable decline in communication, staffing stability, program quality, and overall atmosphere. Long-term teachers and families began leaving, updates became inconsistent, activities and engagement noticeably declined, and parents were often left feeling uncertain about day-to-day operations. There were also concerning operational issues toward the end, including same-day classroom closures due to staffing shortages and a safety incident where children and teachers were locked out of the building while outside because staff did not have access to re-enter. What was most disappointing was the lack of transparency, follow-through, and proactive communication with families during these changes. Many concerns raised by parents seemed minimized rather than meaningfully addressed. I truly appreciated the teachers who cared deeply for the children despite difficult circumstances, and it is heartbreaking that the daycare ultimately closed. If the daycare were ever to reopen under the same leadership structure, I would personally have serious concerns about stability, communication, staffing support, and overall program management.

  • In the beginning, this daycare was truly wonderful, and I would have recommended it to anyone. The staff and director were not just employees — they became like family to us. Our daughter was excited to go to school each day, and we felt confident in the care she was receiving. Unfortunately, since the previous director and several trusted staff members left, we have observed significant changes within the center. With the pastor’s family and friends stepping in to manage operations, there has been a noticeable shift in both the atmosphere and overall management. We have also seen changes in our daughter’s experience. When we asked questions regarding the new director’s qualifications, staff-to-child ratios, the use of volunteers, and plans for maintaining compliance and stability moving forward, many of our concerns were either answered with broad, non-specific responses or not addressed at all. Despite multiple attempts to seek transparency about what concrete actions were being implemented, we did not receive the clarity we were hoping for. The final factor in our decision to withdraw our daughter was a response from the pastor that we felt was passive-aggressive and dismissive of legitimate concerns. While this was a difficult decision, we have chosen to remove our daughter from the center. That said, we will continue to advocate for the remaining children to ensure that all licensing requirements and state regulations are being upheld and that families receive the transparency they deserve.

  • I left my kids here and they had an amazing time made lots of friends. I would say they had they drive and put in the hours to be recognized as an amazing establishment!

What does Maryland record about Calvary's Kids Learning Center's standing?

Maryland records Calvary's Kids Learning Center's status as "Voluntary Closure". That indicates the programme is not currently operating under this licence. The record may lag a reopening, so confirm directly with the provider or the Office of Child Care rather than treating this page as current.

How many children is Calvary's Kids Learning Center licensed for?

Does Calvary's Kids Learning Center operate all year?

Maryland records Calvary's Kids Learning Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for Calvary's Kids Learning Center?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Calvary's Kids Learning Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
