We couldn’t be happier with this preschool! The teachers are warm, patient, and truly care about each child’s growth and happiness. The environment is clean, safe, and welcoming, and the activities are both fun and educational. Our child comes home excited to share what they learned each day, which says everything. We’ve seen so much growth in confidence, social skills, and curiosity. Highly recommend to any family looking for a nurturing and engaging place for their little one!
Tebby TellaDec 21, 2025Amazing experience here at Creative Scholars! The teachers are so personable and love exactly what they do with our little scholars. We love every teacher here. We love how our children are treated. Their willingness to work with just US as parents to two scholars that attends here never goes unnoticed. My oldest is on her way out, she’ll be 5 in 4 months and headed to Kindergarten, but our youngest will still attend. I would recommended Creative Scholars over and over again!
Tiana DardenDec 16, 2025I cannot say enough great things about Creative Scholars! My son started here right after turning two and within just a month we saw a remarkable transformation. He had been diagnosed with a speech delay and was in early intervention, but thanks to the incredible support and teaching techniques at Creative Scholars he graduated from the program in less than a month of starting here. His speech has blossomed, he has made friends, and he has truly come out of his shell. He absolutely loves his teachers and is excited to go to school every day. At just two years old he can count to 20, say his ABCs, and even knows the phonetics. He also recognizes his shapes, colors, emotions, and planets. The school helps with potty training, which has been a huge relief for me as a first-time mom. All I have to do is follow their lead, and it has made the process so much easier. One of the things I appreciate most is that they do periodic evaluations for every student, so parents always know how their child is progressing. The teachers integrate fun with learning in such a natural way, and the small class sizes give each child the attention they need. The students are well-mannered, the parents are involved, and the environment feels warm, structured, and nurturing. They also are sticklers for cleanliness so the facilities are always spotless. The students all have school slippers they change into each day before entering the classroom. Love that! Creative Scholars has been around for several years and it truly shows in their professionalism, experience, and dedication. I have no doubt that when my son prepares to go to “big boy school” he will be ready, if not advanced. I am so grateful for this school and recommend it to any parent without hesitation.
Chastity W.Aug 25, 2025When we first came to visit, Ms. Shelby asked that we come after hours and we weren’t allowed back until after the last child was picked up, which was a major green flag for me because that let me know strangers are not randomly coming in during the day while my child is in their care. They do not compromise on safety here. In the beginning, my biggest concern for my 6 month old was naturally the separation anxiety and that they do not having cameras. We did receive pictures and her classroom teacher communicated anything concerning or highlights from her day with us. Because our child is so young, one thing I’ve observed that stands out to me is the way the children interact with each other. These kids are taught to be kind and respectful. They look out for each other and listen to their teachers. Another reason we love Creative Scholars is that they take education seriously, which is very important to us. The kids play but there’s also a curriculum and structure, even for the infant room. They evaluate the children not only based on their age but take their skills and level of development into consideration as well. They foster our child’s interest in learning. At 16 months she’s counting to 20, knows most of the alphabet and sounds, is identifying shapes and colors, and starting to speak in complete sentences. We haven’t reached this stage yet, but we are looking forward to how prepared our child will be for kindergarten. The preschoolers are learning math, they learn how to count and manage money, and they do fun science projects. All of the teachers here are kind and care for the children. Our child absolutely loves Ms. Muppy (and we do too!). It’s a well-rounded center with the care of home care, space of a day care facility (with a gym/music room), and curriculum that’s Montessori style-like.
Chayhann MarsAug 12, 2025⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Creative Scholars has been an incredible daycare experience for our family! The staff, especially Muppy and Shelby, are warm, dedicated, and truly care about the children. Our son was introduced to science, gardening, and even helped harvest vegetables from the class garden—experiences that really expanded his understanding of the world. He also learned kindness, sharing, and emotional regulation, which turned the “terrible twos” into “terrific twos.” We’ve seen so much growth in him. We’ll be genuinely sad when he graduates. Highly recommend Creative Scholars to any parent looking for a loving and enriching preschool/daycare!
Ruby OrwenyoAug 5, 2025My wife and I recently moved to the area and were eager to find a daycare where we felt comfortable and that had our children’s best interests at heart. From the moment we met Shelby and her team, we knew it was the right fit for our family. Their approach to learning, combined with their commitment to making every child feel loved and well cared for, assured us that we made the right choice. We have the utmost faith in Shelby and her team’s ability to not only take care of our children, but also help them develop into great human beings. We could not be happier that we chose Creative Scholars for our childcare needs!

Questions parents ask about Creative Scholars
Is Creative Scholars a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Creative Scholars holds Maryland licence 1746211488838x395268505195924800, listed as "INITIAL - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Prince George's County. The licence is recorded as Initial - Full, running to February 28, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Creative Scholars's standing?
- Maryland records Creative Scholars's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is Creative Scholars licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 3 infant places for Creative Scholars. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does Creative Scholars operate all year?
- Maryland records Creative Scholars as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Creative Scholars?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Creative Scholars's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
