  • Wonderful staff, very large and clean facility, tons of activities. My son had a wonderful summer there and looks forward to attending again. I recommend highly.

  • Amazing place to take your kids for child care services! I love how loud the intercom is when I pick my child up. My son tends to take some time to come out since we wants to say bye to everyone. The intercom being loud it reassures me that they are call my sons name notifying him multiple times to come out and that we are waiting for him!

  • My daughter came to the Bring A Buddy: Break-A-Board event with her friend for her first experience. She loved the atmosphere and the idea of learning Karate so we signed up for the Free month trial. We signed her up after that and have been going ever since and she just absolutely loves it. The teachers are wonderful and so great with the kids! I have already recommended the place to a few of my friends and co-workers! Looking forward to seeing how far she can go!

  • I have found that American Kenpo Karate daycare prices have been competitive with others in the area. But with Kenpo, you get so much more. You get your karate training along with field trips. Kenpo also has atleast one activity once a month that normally is either free or only a few dollars for all members. I would recommend American Kenpo Karate to anyone looking for daycare or even just karate classes. In fact, I have even referred my sister to Kenpo Karate and now my two nephews go there as well. Kenpo Karate is a big karate facility so there are a lot of children who attend and I am amazed how every instructor, daycare worker and even the office staff knows every kids name and their parents. It is also nice that they have a great mixture of both male and female instructors. I am also very pleased with how clean the facility is and friendly the workers are.

  • I am very happy to have found American Kenpo Karate for my two kids. They have been taking the karate class for almost eight months now and it has been a great experience for them. The discipline and confidence, among other things, they have learned is exactly what I was looking for when searching for a martial arts class. The overall atmosphere of the place is excellent, focusing on not only technique but values. It's the people that make this place great, from the instructors, to the people behind the desks!

  • American Kenpo has been a great place for both of my kids. Both, have been able to discover a desire and love for karate. Both have made many friends of all ages and really enjoy the summer program. I enjoy the discipline, the focus, and the respect that Kenpo is instilling in both kids. The staff and instructors are great mentors for the young children they teach and care for. I also love the idea of working with the children with their homework. The fact that Kenpo also buses children to and from their schools is a tremendous benefit for me since it allows me to work a full 8 hour day no problem.

Questions parents ask about First Choice Child Care

Is First Choice Child Care a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. First Choice Child Care holds Maryland licence 1746214739007x310166171935492500, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Baltimore County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to May 31, 2026. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about First Choice Child Care's standing?

Maryland records First Choice Child Care's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is First Choice Child Care licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 274 school-age places for First Choice Child Care. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does First Choice Child Care operate all year?

Maryland records First Choice Child Care as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for First Choice Child Care?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects First Choice Child Care's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
