Maryland publishes an infant band and a school-age band and no others, so these are not a total capacity and say nothing about toddler or preschool places.

Not currently operating on this licence

Maryland records this provider’s status as “Voluntary Closure”, so Friday's Child is not currently operating under this licence. The record can lag a reopening. Confirm with the provider or check Check Child Care Maryland rather than treating this page as current.

  • Our son has been at Friday's Child for 8 months and we've had a really great experience so far. He's grown so much being there. He's learned so much and is very social with the other kids. The staff really cares about him and he looks forward to seeing them each day. Many of the teachers have been there for years. Like any local business, a big difference in our experience is because of the personal relationships. There are larger daycare corporations in the area that can offer some more bells and whistles, in particular technology interface. Ultimately, the decision is personal for each child and family. Definitely worth checking out! We really appreciate thow the staff has aided in our child's development.

  • Notice, the one positive review here is from the OWNER! The place is chaos. Even when we toured, the management was scatter brained, toys and kids were strewn about, and the staff did not appear to be engaged with the kids on any sort of curriculum or activity schedule. All of their accountability for the kids and for their billing is on paper. We found mistakes in billing from them several times. They also refused to bill us for over a month, despite us calling and asking for an invoice so we could pay them, then we suddenly owe 2 months of tuition at once when they get their financial processes back on track. They also handled COVID atrociously. After a positive case, they refused to let kids back in without a negative PCR test. If you check with any pharmacy, hospital, or clinic, they will not administer that test to an infant unless they are showing symptoms. Friday's didn't care, and why would they? We were bound by the contract to keep paying them. We pulled out after that incident and ate the 6 weeks of tuition, since they required that long to sever the contact. We were not able to send our kid back during that time because we couldn't get a doctor to administer a PCR test.

  • Handled childcare, contracts, and covid in the worst ways possible. Avoid this place at all costs if you value your sanity and like dealing with professionals.

  • Terrible customer service- owner Thomas Klein and his wife have zero communication skills- a needed thing when you are paying for then to watch your child.

Questions parents ask about Friday's Child

Is Friday's Child a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. Friday's Child holds Maryland licence 1746226181635x534161897550476000, listed as "CLOSED" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Baltimore City, running to November 30, 1990. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about Friday's Child's standing?

Maryland records Friday's Child's status as "Voluntary Closure". That indicates the programme is not currently operating under this licence. The record may lag a reopening, so confirm directly with the provider or the Office of Child Care rather than treating this page as current.

Does Friday's Child operate all year?

Maryland records Friday's Child as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for Friday's Child?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Friday's Child's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
