  • We’ve been at GLC for 2.5 years now with all 3 of our boys. We’ve had or have a child in all the classes and I have to say we’ve loved it for all ages- 6 weeks to 4.5 years old. The teachers, staff and new director are wonderful! The center is very communicative, the kids have fun while learning and my boys look forward to going to school/daycare every day. I would absolutely recommend Gateway Learning Center.

  • I have 5 children that have been enrolled or are currently enrolled in the center in various classrooms, since 2020. I've utilized the school age programs- all the way to the infant room. The teachers are wonderful. The new director is a great communicator and is really involved. They send out daily messages for all age groups with details of thr day from what your child has eaten, diaper/potty training, classroom activites and more. My children have been happy here. My older kids sad they didn't offer a summer program for school age this year. But my younger ones are still happy and ask to go to "school" daily even on the weekend.

  • The teachers were great. Communication could be a little better. The director, she seemed nice until there was an incident where my child was slapped so hard across the face and had an handprint for 2 days. I was Told to put my feelings aside because kids are kids. Pulled my kids and they seem much happier now!

  • Great experience so far after a few months. Teachers are nice, respectful and communicative. Both my boys love going every day and you can see how much the teachers care about them. 10/10!

  • I have had the most amazing experience at Gateway Learning Center. It has truly been an answered prayer. My boys have been enrolled for 3 months and the teachers are honestly the best. They communicate almost daily, provide feedback, a structured curriculum, and so much more. I genuinely enjoy seeing all of the smiling faces everyday. It’s disheartening to see negative comments. Each situation is different, but from my experience…and I am a very overprotective parent, I have nothing but positive things to say!

  • Very poor experience. Poor communication about your children. Unless it’s a reason to pick up they will call you to pick up your kids if they sneeze or have a loose stool. I had to pick up over 12 times in less than 6 months. But most importantly it starts from the top the director is very inexperienced in my opinion and it seems like most efforts go into marketing tactics rather than quality care. I ultimately pulled my children on the spot because of her lack of respect and experience. Save yourself the trouble and find a better center if you want your child to be happy.

Questions parents ask about Gateway Learning Center

Is Gateway Learning Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. Gateway Learning Center holds Maryland licence 1746214091205x422113575073129100, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Washington County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to June 30, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about Gateway Learning Center's standing?

Maryland records Gateway Learning Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is Gateway Learning Center licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 6 infant places and 15 school-age places for Gateway Learning Center. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does Gateway Learning Center operate all year?

Maryland records Gateway Learning Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for Gateway Learning Center?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Gateway Learning Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
