  • Fantastic school! My son joined the Pre -K room this year and loved his teachers Ms.Patty and Ms.Emily! In just a few short months he has learned to write his name, write the letters, and numbers! They really prepared him for kindergarten!

  • TL;DR: I've had at least one child enrolled since 2021, from infancy through age 5. My kids are excited to be dropped off each day and disappointed when it's time to leave. My children have learned so much beyond the typical educational milestones. As babies, they've learned sign language and took their first steps. As they've grown, they've become independent, confident, and kind. I've had the privilege of watching not only my own children grow, but also their classmates and the staff. The children attend each other's birthday parties and get excited when they run into one another around town. We've also watched teachers thrive in their classrooms and grow into leadership roles. The staff takes the education, safety, and well-being of every child seriously. When tragedy has affected the community, they have opened their parking lot as a safe gathering space for families while maintaining the security of the daycare. They work closely with the church to host holiday events and bring the community together. They are in constant communication of my childrens development, contract renewal deadlines, and any other pertinent information. As the saying goes, "it takes a village". Our family is grateful to have found ours at GSCC.

  • I cannot express just how grateful my wife and I are with Good Shepherd Children's Center. Never mind the comments from the Karens - personally, our daughter has had a wonderful experience here since starting in the Fall of 2024. Her teachers do such a good job with her and the others there, keeping them engaged with fun and crafty activities throughout the day. The facilities are kept super clean, and the teachers are always the upmost professional with us. We are kept aware of our Daughter's status with updates and photos throughout the day via a convenient little phone app. And finally, our daughter cannot wait to go to Daycare every morning and see her friends and teachers. I could go on, but I'll leave it at that. Thanks GSCC!

  • My daughter was at this daycare in 2025. The people who work here are unprofessional and uneducated. They spend their time on their cell phones instead of paying attention to the children. For the summer program, I inquired about the registration process well in advance. When I found out that it was already full, I asked the director, Rebecca, and she told me it was full. In other words, instead of giving priority to the children who were already enrolled, she accepted children from outside, leaving those who were already registered without a place and with no options. The most unbelievable part is that I was calling and sending emails, and no one bothered to inform me when registration opened. The communication from Rebecca and her secretary was terrible. They were disrespectful and unprofessional. In short, stay away from this daycare. Terrible communication.

  • Absolutely love this center. My child has been enrolled for 3 years now and I truly can’t find a complaint. Good Sheppard has been a second home for my youngest over the years. The teachers and staff have become like a second family to us and my child. I’ve noticed this report with a lot of the families that come here. My child is actually attending public school in the fall and there is a part of me that knows we are going to miss this place. I fully intend on enrolling her for their summer program still so we can keep that relationship going. This center provides so much value to my child that I couldn’t imagine withdrawing completely until she fully ages out. Thank you for everything you have done over the years GSCC!

  • My daughter started this daycare on 6/15/2025 and on 8/7/2025.I received a message that I need to come pick up my child, which I told them to call my mother in law first which they didn't do, until I told them I can't leave work and I wasn't leaving because I said call her grandma. They decided to send a email dis enrolling my 3yr old. Not even calling nor telling her grandmother when she came to pick her up. If I didn't look at my email I would've dropped her off, which was very unprofessional and a director.Just like the other person mentioned ,I heard Patty the teacher yelling and she didn't even realize I was still standing there. In the email they sent they said my child got out the class and was going up the stairs, so you blame a 3yr old for leaving a class when a teacher should be watching the children. They send 3yrs old to the bathroom by themselves which anyone can walk into the bathroom behind them. When I spoke with the director Rebecca at the time of enrollment, I explained to my child doesn't like naps and she talks to herself. She stated they can accommodate her, which was a lie. On Tuesday I picked her up and the teacher stuck her tongue out at her which she had a tongue ring, I guess that's appropriate for a teacher to do. I should have listened to other parents that said the teachers were nasty and mean. If a person that doesn't even have a child there heard them just imagine what they doing behind the close doors to the children. I was pulling my child out anyway they just did me a favor, so Thank you. Also I would like my refund for my registration fee that I paid since my child will not be attending in September. They wrote my 3 yr old up 6 times for being a child, ever child is different and not the same. They didn't like the face at nap time she didn't sleep she will talk and want to get up. I told the director this before hand. Daycares should have rooms for kids that don't want to sleep during nap time

Questions parents ask about Good Shepherd Children's Center

Is Good Shepherd Children's Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. Good Shepherd Children's Center holds Maryland licence 1746216647441x832154529003257300, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Harford County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to February 29, 2028. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about Good Shepherd Children's Center's standing?

Maryland records Good Shepherd Children's Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is Good Shepherd Children's Center licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 9 infant places and 56 school-age places for Good Shepherd Children's Center. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does Good Shepherd Children's Center operate all year?

Maryland records Good Shepherd Children's Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for Good Shepherd Children's Center?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Good Shepherd Children's Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
