Our child attended Great Kids for about two years and we were not terribly impressed. We were given a long over view of the things they’d do with the children each year (regular evaluations, guests at the school, field trips, etc) almost none of which happened, other than a person here or there coming in. Never a field trip and only one evaluation was given the entire time. The director wasn’t the most friendliest person and was often overly stern to the children for no reason. Although they don’t offer buses, they followed Montgomery county closure schedule and then added in additional days as they pleased. Even though they follow Montgomery county calendar, their first day is not the same and their moving up day is two weeks prior making it really inconvenient for children not continuing in their school after pre-K. They decided, on their own, on the last day of school to close the school because of “inclement weather”. It was raining. Rain. Overall, my daughter received good care but the logistics have a lot to be desired.
Karissa WarrenAug 9, 2024I have had the opportunity to have two children attend Great Kids Development Center. I have seen extreme growth in the past four years. The teachers are warm and amazing. As an early childhood professional, I am very picky about where I allow my children to attend school.I love the family environment that this development center embraces. I am never worried leaving my most precious and prized possessions in their care. It certainly helps to know that they uphold the same values and standards that my family upholds.
Ghislaine Toussaint-GreenMay 16, 2020Every day I asked my grandkids how was the day in school. They usually have good things to say but lately I have been extremely disappointed. This week the following was shared: my teacher told ( another child) to pee in the cot and that was not nice. I also learned that one of my grandkids was told by the Director to remove his custom because it was going to be too sweaty. My granchild was singled out and embarrassed in front of the classmates. This experience has left a negative impression on us and this doesn't reflect the mission or vision statement of the organization. I wonder how Jesus would had handled the situation. I thought I was sending my grandkids to a Christian school.

Questions parents ask about Great Kids Development Center
Is Great Kids Development Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Great Kids Development Center holds Maryland licence 1746215272481x752418183223106000, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Montgomery County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to June 30, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Great Kids Development Center's standing?
- Maryland records Great Kids Development Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
Does this page show inspection results for Great Kids Development Center?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Great Kids Development Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
