Greenbelt Children's Center was hands-down the best match for my spirited child. She thrived under the care of GCC's dedicated staff, who offered a wonderful combination of education and care. Staff (especially Ms. Simone, who began at GCC as a classroom teacher and was then trained as and promoted to Director) are engaged and child focused. There is wonderful emphasis on new experiences via grant programs, literacy initiatives, and themed weeks. The center is clean, private, and secure. The location is perfect for busy parents - just minutes off 495 and 295 - and the playground is expansive. Highly recommended!
Amy KneselSep 11, 2025Greenbelt Children's Center gets five stars from me. All of my children have attended the school over the years. They enjoyed the programs that were offered, such as Spanish and basketball. The staff was also amazing and they provided security for my children. My children felt safe and constantly spoke about their teachers when they were home.
Johnetta HammondsSep 7, 2025If you are a young mother, keep your Ts crossed and your I’s dotted with the director Simone, always ask for receipts and read the fine lines. The other 1 star review was spot on, i bypassed it at first but now i no exactly what the other parent was talking about. If your child has any type of separation anxiety or behavioral problems or even excessive crying, they would make up an excuse to discontinue your child from coming please keep that in mind. Your child must be potty trained because they do not help with that even though they say they do. Other than those 2 things they’re just ok.
Mrs.K JacksonOct 17, 2024My neighbor had good things to say so, I wanted to check out this center. She sent her daughter here a few years ago and loved the place. I talked with the director, Ms. Simone and she anwered all my questions, made me feel calm and was so pleasant.
louise aNov 30, 2023Please be careful about we’re you choose for your children to go. I called and informed them of my daughters needs for the summer program and I was told they would be able to accommodate her. Then I turned in my paperwork and paid my registration and was informed that my kids could also come with me so they can look at the facility, not knowing, they was evaluating my children without my knowledge, or consent. Then they called me the next week and told me my daughter could not attend because she would be a liability and would also not refund my registration. To make matters worse it is very unsafe. They allow their front door to be unlocked and open at certain times of the morning and evening for parents to have access to the facility. The problem with that is anyone can walk in and hurt your children. Would not recommend sending your child to this center.
Vivian GarlandMay 31, 2023My children went there over 20 years ago and they benefited greatly from the same caring staff. They are committed to the educational experience of each individual child. They allow and encourage children to utilize their imagination. My children continue to speak of the positive impact that Greenbelt Children’s Center had on them. One of them is a Scientist and the other a successful entrepreneur. Mrs. Jenkins

Questions parents ask about Greenbelt Children's Center
Is Greenbelt Children's Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Greenbelt Children's Center holds Maryland licence 1746225525435x465272561702363840, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Prince George's County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to March 31, 2028. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Greenbelt Children's Center's standing?
- Maryland records Greenbelt Children's Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is Greenbelt Children's Center licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 20 school-age places for Greenbelt Children's Center. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does Greenbelt Children's Center operate all year?
- Maryland records Greenbelt Children's Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Greenbelt Children's Center?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Greenbelt Children's Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
