  • My son has absolutely enjoyed every minute of attending HJC ELC!! The staff are top notch! Although we personally are not Jewish, we have friends and family in the Jewish community and it has been an enlightening experience for my son to learn about a different culture. This has been a truly rewarding experience for my family. The teachers have been absolutely AMAZING!! They genuinely care about the wellbeing of our kids, and provide a nurturing, educational environment for them while in their care. My son started attending at 2.5yrs. He just turned 4, and we plan to keep him there through this school year, as well as the summer program that's available. He will likely return for the summer program even after he starts attending public school. They have been working to get Grants to open their availability for additional teachers and students. They have a lower cost tuition than most "centers" or even in-home daycares in the area. More flexibility with hours (full/part time). They generally follow the HCPS calendar/schedule. They opened a 1-2yr room this year, but IMHO this place is SO MUCH MORE than a daycare. Added bonus (in my opinion) is the school is not-for-profit, so it changes the entire dynamic of the school, the educators and how things are run. Definitely community based, and we 1000% appreciate it. There are little field trips, etc. Which are perfect for my little dude because he is a busybody - and they WEAR HIM OUT. Absolutely, 10-toes down, chest out - best decision we have made with our sons education and shaping him to being a better human!!!! Thank you HJC-ELC.

  • A great local preschool option! The teachers and directors are kind, friendly, responsive to parents’ questions and concerns and really care for the students’ educational and social-emotional progress. “I love it!” - says my child!

  • The Harford Jewish Center Early Learning Center has been an incredible experience for my child, who started in January 2022 and is now thriving in Pre-K. The program is open to everyone, not just the Jewish community, and it's been so neat to expose my child to a different culture in such a welcoming environment. Ms. Danni, the Pre-K teacher and assistant director, is amazing, knowledgeable, and dedicated. She truly cares about each child's growth and creates a warm and supportive atmosphere. The low-cost tuition is much more affordable than daycare, and my child is getting the full classroom experience, which has been invaluable in preparing them for Kindergarten and beyond. We’ve seen tremendous progress, and we couldn’t be happier with the wonderful foundation this preschool provides!

Questions parents ask about HJC Early Learning Center

Is HJC Early Learning Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. HJC Early Learning Center holds Maryland licence 1746210786242x168039761776612960, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Harford County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to August 31, 2026. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about HJC Early Learning Center's standing?

Maryland records HJC Early Learning Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

Does this page show inspection results for HJC Early Learning Center?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects HJC Early Learning Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
