Great place to explore and wonder around while being away from the hot city during summer days. Lots to see in the center, and big meadow with a bunch of trails to walk around. You can set up a propose or a wedding here! Butterflies are everywhere! Children friendly. Dogs not allowed.
Daisy XuJul 26, 2026We had a lovely visit to Irvine Nature Center with some of our homeschool friends. The 6 children ranged from age 4-12 and everyone enjoyed the facility. They loved seeing the animals, the nature play area, and the hike to the Native American village. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will be sure to visit again soon!
Tabitha ThomasApr 24, 2026An absolutely beautiful area! We took a nice long walk against the various trails that were available and didn't want it to end! It was a very peaceful experience and we definitely want to make our way back just to explore anything that we hadn't seen. There was so much wildlife and the paths were very clearly made so it's extremely hard to get lost.
John Johnson (Stuntyy)Jun 2, 2025Grab sandwiches and coffee at Restertown’s daughter and then Spend the day walking around Irvine Nature Center. This is a quiet well-paved ample parking restroom equipped park. There are quaint meandering trails through Bonanzas of golden rods, bonesets, oaks, elms, understory and shady groves with - bees, and butterflies and occasional birds of prey! Great for a peaceful and uninterrupted walk in the woods. Fall has got to be spectacular here so will return. Sit on a bench atop the Pollinator Meadow just after the gazebo for a quick snack and do observe the cloud shadow cast dappled Meadow beneath the gorgeous horizon line. Bring a selfie stick for photographs. Kind of reminds me of Jonesrud Viewpoint in Sandy, Oregon.
Artofthinking RahulBSep 15, 2024An absolutely beautiful place! We just had our wedding here and the experience start to finish of working with Jessica and Wendy was great. They were flexible, very communicative, and really helped us to create our dream wedding. The venue was affordable, and the lawn space, fire pit, and outdoor play area for the kids were just the icing on the cake. The setting is just beautiful and you would never know you’re right outside of Baltimore. A must-visit in the DMV, and definitely consider them for your next event!
Caraline JeffreyJun 13, 2024Found the Irvine Nature Center while looking for something fun to do. So glad we found it! This is a must for anyone it is great for kids too. There are so many things to see and explore. It is definitely an educational experience for both the novice and pro outsider! There are lots of trails, through the woods, meadows and wetlands. You never know what you will find. Make sure to visit the aviary and see the birds of prey. We will definitely be back! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Questions parents ask about Irvine Nature Center
Is Irvine Nature Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Irvine Nature Center holds Maryland licence 1746214210425x246920864116657600, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Baltimore County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to April 30, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Irvine Nature Center's standing?
- Maryland records Irvine Nature Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
Does Irvine Nature Center operate all year?
- Maryland records Irvine Nature Center as a "School Year Only" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Irvine Nature Center?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Irvine Nature Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
