  • We toured several daycares and preschools in Annapolis before choosing Kiddie Academy of Annapolis on West Street, and it was the best decision we made for our child. From day one, the teachers have been warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in our child's development. The Life Essentials curriculum goes beyond basic childcare — our child is learning social skills, early literacy, and confidence in a safe, clean environment. We love getting daily updates and photos through the app so we always know what's happening during the day and what to work on with them at home.. What really sets Kiddie Academy apart from other daycare centers in Annapolis is the personal attention. The staff knows every child by name and treats each family like their own. Drop-off is easy because our child actually runs to the door excited to see their teachers. The facility is always spotless, meals and snacks are included and healthy, and the hours work perfectly for our schedule. If you're looking for the best daycare or preschool in Annapolis, look no further. We couldn't be happier with our experience.

  • Our daughter has been at Kiddie Academy of Annapolis for over a year, and it’s hard to put into words how grateful we are for this place. The teachers are incredible — kind, patient, and genuinely invested in each child’s growth. You can feel it the second you walk in when greeted by the team. We toured several daycares in Annapolis, and this one stood out because of how organized and welcoming it felt. Every classroom is energy and learning — it’s not just babysitting, it’s true early education. Our daughter has learned so much socially and academically, and she’s excited to go every morning (which says a lot!). She has made such a good friend that they hang out nonstop. The staff does communicate constantly through the parent app with pictures, updates, and reminders. It makes such a difference for working parents to feel connected during the day. If you’re looking for the best preschool or childcare center in Annapolis MD that balances fun, structure, and heart —this is the place. It truly feels like a second home for our family.

  • Exceptional Preschool & Child Care in Annapolis — Peace of Mind at Kiddie Academy of Annapolis From the moment we toured the Academy at 1919 West Street in Annapolis, MD, we knew we found the right place for our child. My daughter (age 4) has been attending Kiddie Academy of Annapolis for the Preschool/Pre-K program, and the positive growth we have seen—from her confidence, friendships, daily enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn—has been remarkable. Here’s what stands out: The curriculum integrates early learning, STEM, art, music, and social-emotional development in a lively, hands-on way, through play. It’s clear the teachers use structure and imagination together to encourage curiosity and creativity. The facility is modern, clean, secure and safe. We appreciate the live video access for peace of mind, and the daily updates (via the parent app) with photos and a brief summary of what the children did that day. The teaching staff at this Annapolis child care center are warm, professional and genuinely engaged. They know my daughter’s strengths and growth areas, and they partner with us as parents in her learning journey. Communication is consistent and transparent. The director and team host open house events, parent-teacher nights, and regular updates—so we always feel informed about her progress and the classroom environment. The location is very convenient for Annapolis families and those in nearby Edgewater, Cape St. Claire, Parole & Anne Arundel County. The commute is short, drop-off and pick-up are well managed, and the sense of community is strong. Overall, we feel our child is not just being cared for, but is thriving in an educational child care environment that goes beyond daycare: this is truly preschool + child care + enrichment combined. We see her far above her friends that do not go to childcare centers or education based, perhaps slightly biased. If you’re looking for a high-quality preschool and child care center in Annapolis MD where your child will be safe, inspired, and supported every day, I cannot recommend Kiddie Academy of Annapolis highly enough. It’s the best decision we’ve made for our daughter’s early education.

  • Best daycare in Annapolis and Edgewater! After touring several daycares and preschools in Annapolis and Edgewater, this one stood out immediately. Our family couldn’t be happier with Kiddie Academy of Annapolis. From day one, the teachers and staff made us feel like part of the family, especially Shannon and Effe. You can tell they genuinely care about the kids — they greet everyone by name, and our child runs into the building every morning with a huge smile. The owner is onsite almost all the time, which is more than I can say about the others we toured. We were looking for the best child care center in Annapolis, Edgewater and Parole that felt safe, educational, and fun, and this has been all of that and more. The classrooms are always busy with hands-on learning, and we love getting photos and updates throughout the day. It gives us such peace of mind. If you’re a parent searching for a place where your child will be loved, challenged, and excited to learn, this is it. We’re so thankful to have found this school. They were also lower priced than most as well, especially since they include food! What a life saver!!!

  • I'd give no stars if I could - please read before you enroll your child here. My toddler attended Kiddie Academy Annapolis for one day (less than five hours). I wish I'd listened to my gut and I'm posting this in hopes of another parent avoiding the same experience that we endured. At nap time, my 16 month old daughter was kneeling in her crib. She was not crying, she was not fussing, she was calm and looking around. Two teachers were in the room; one was sitting in a chair texting on her phone in full view of the camera. Another teacher approached my daughter in her crib, grabbed the back of her head, and pushed her down to the crib face first. She provided no assistance in reaching the mattress; she pushed my daughter with one hand to force her to lay down. My daughter sat back up, now crying, and the teacher walked back over and lifted her up using only her sleep sack (no head/neck/body support) and forcefully put her on her stomach, and began "patting" her back aggressively. I immediately contacted the school to report the incident, picked her up, and received a full refund. A complaint has been filed with the Maryland Department of Licensing. The director, by her own admission, stated that they "saw what I saw" when reviewing the footage. She also said that if it made me feel better, the teacher that did this is normally with younger infants (it made me feel worse). None of the leadership seemed surprised that the other teacher was texting in full view of the camera. This tells me two things: they either do not monitor the cameras, or they do not care that teachers were breaking protocol. The fact that I saw this incident in less than 20 minutes of viewing the cameras leads me to believe that this is a regular occurrence for children who attend this school. The owner, director, and assistant director were apologetic and understanding, but it unfortunately does not mean that Kiddie Academy is a safe place for young children. I hope they make some changes to ensure that the children who attend Kiddie Academy Annapolis (many of whom are too young to speak) are treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve and that their parents are trusting Kiddie Academy to provide. But in the meantime, be weary of enrolling your child here and please, watch those cameras.

  • I am extremely disappointed with our experience at Kiddie Academy. From the beginning, it was clear that the classroom lacked proper structure and organization. The teachers did not seem to have a handle on the daily routine, and the children were often left to wander without direction or meaningful engagement. The most alarming issue, however, was the lack of supervision. On one occasion, my child was able to leave the classroom without any adult noticing. This is absolutely unacceptable and shows a serious failure in basic child safety protocols. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. As a parent, I expect a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for my child—and Kiddie Academy failed on all fronts. I cannot recommend this facility to any family who values their child’s safety and development.

Questions parents ask about Kiddie Academy of Annapolis

Is Kiddie Academy of Annapolis a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. Kiddie Academy of Annapolis holds Maryland licence 1746222286519x512602270503156740, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Anne Arundel County. What does Maryland record about Kiddie Academy of Annapolis's standing?

Maryland records Kiddie Academy of Annapolis's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is Kiddie Academy of Annapolis licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 18 infant places and 15 school-age places for Kiddie Academy of Annapolis. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does this page show inspection results for Kiddie Academy of Annapolis?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Kiddie Academy of Annapolis's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
