Changing my child’s daycare from this facility was the best thing that I could do for him. He is absolutely thriving now. Here, I observed one specific teacher consistently rough with him… as an infant, and then her roughness turned into mean and cold towards him when he was a toddler. That was my last straw. The staff at this daycare are in and out like a revolving door. They provide food, but if you must take your child here, pack their lunch. On my son’s last day they gave him a biscuit with jelly for breakfast and a biscuit with mixed fruit and mixed veggies for lunch. No protein? Minimal variety? The owner was accommodating when we were leaving. Knowing my experience here vs at an organized facility… take your child elsewhere.
Alexis LordMay 12, 2026The management of this academy is mean! My child was in this academy . After paying registration of $250 i was asked to pay security deposit of $260?! I asked why and they told me is in case my child breaks something… wow, like what? I paid and we carried on. I went to pick my child one day after school and h er teacher in the school age classroom said, oh sorry i forgot to pick up your child, just like that. That was scary, but i let it slide since it was once. The last straw was their poor ability to retain staff, always a new face in class. Almost all the old staff left in the space of 2 months! Something definitely went wrong. AND MY SECURITY DEPOSIT WAS NOT REFUNDED! $260! The owner claimed i need to give her 2 weeks notice, but i only gave 5days notice! It was not a good experience here at all!!!! My child absolutely loves where she is now!
Ayibi EnencheApr 2, 2026This day care used to be good but no more. Stafff retention is poor. iNew faces every time you come to pick your. child. In the space of 4 months, the director, the assistant director and almost all the teachers left. My child’s class used to be full and fun but now scanty. This is affecting the kids.
Dence ClothierMar 7, 2026Ms. Griffin I totally agree with your review! We had our grandson at La Petite, or "the mean school" as he called it. He is a much happier child at Kiddie Academy and he he thrilled to go there everyday. He is thriving, learning a lot and making friends. Mikayla is a hands on Director which is fantastic. Please keep up the good work!v Kiddie Academy, you have our total support
Ruth MericleSep 23, 2025I wish I could select 10 stars! Mikala, the Director here is truly astounding. My son was in Ms. Kelly’s 4 year old class and she was fabulous! I truly couldn’t recommend a better school for your babies. We pulled our son from Goddard because it was seemingly just the name, and had an awesome experience instead with Kiddie Academy!
Ricquel GriffinMar 14, 20253,5 stars would be best. Kudos to the new director! We enjoyed our time at Kiddie Academy Elkridge, especially after the new director started. My 2 kids were there. My daighter from age 4-5 and my son from age 1-3. Ms. Makayla is a star. I saw how she trained the staff, brought organization to the center and upheld the high standards. She quickly fires those that are not up to par. She works well with kids with behavioral needs. She quickly responded to all requests and was there to cover emergencies. I saw many days where she was the 1st one there and the last one to leave. The center has improved in organization , education and cleanliness' since she started. I saw an improvement in the classroom management and teachers while she was there. Many other teachers were great as well. We love Ms Stacey. She took extra time to help and feed the kids. our sons most recent teacher in his room was great as well, it helped that she had a BA degree. The infant teacher was superb when our son passed through that class he was well taken care of. There has been transition and turn over of staff but the new director is helping to get things in line. The owner really stays behind the scenes so I cant speak much on her But I think she could do more to treat her employees better since they have the great job of caring for little ones. The summer camp program is good. Its busy with lots of trips and in house activities for kids over 5. We may be back in the summer for camp. I would like to continue to see growth, Maybe flowers outside and bring in activities such as music and yoga for the kids. The best part was that they provide a hot lunch for the kids and it saved me time for having to make lunch daily. I gave it 3 starts but it moving toward 4 and they should continue to improve.

Questions parents ask about Kiddie Academy of Elkridge
Is Kiddie Academy of Elkridge a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Kiddie Academy of Elkridge holds Maryland licence 1746212540855x536948378081387700, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Howard County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to August 31, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Kiddie Academy of Elkridge's standing?
- Maryland records Kiddie Academy of Elkridge's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is Kiddie Academy of Elkridge licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 12 infant places and 40 school-age places for Kiddie Academy of Elkridge. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does Kiddie Academy of Elkridge operate all year?
- Maryland records Kiddie Academy of Elkridge as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Kiddie Academy of Elkridge?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Kiddie Academy of Elkridge's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
