I currently have my 3-year-old attending MRDC Head Start Edgewood Center, and my experience has been very positive. The site supervisor/director, Pam, and the family advocate, Dejaune, are both amazing. They are caring, supportive, and always take the time to listen when I have concerns. I actually brought my first child here years ago, and because of the great experience, I chose to continue that legacy with my youngest. After having another baby three years later, I didn’t hesitate to bring my child right back to MRDC Head Start. It’s reassuring to know my child is in a loving and supportive environment.

My child has been complaining about a certain teacher grabbing her pulling her by her arm to another table while she was already sitting at a table and yelling at her. She is always sick after coming from there. I do attend on pressing charges and calling cps. This is unacceptable, the school says they will be doing an investigation but im not understanding how when the cameras arnt even on.!! This is a state provided school and i will be taking further action.
Darria JonesMar 16, 2025Horrible director & staff. Don’t send your children to this place! Withdrew my son out of here after numerous occasions of him having marks on him leaving preschool that he didn’t go in with! Put him into a better, actual preschool & he flourished!
Ravyn PaquetteJul 24, 2023This place is a disgrace or should I say the workers/teachers. I enrolled my 3 year daughter into this school for the 2017-2018 school year. I did everything that was asked for her to attend very swiftly to make sure she gets a spot and she did. Few week later i get notice stating the new building for the relocation fail a permit inspection so opening day will be delayed. Months go by get another notice in the mail. I even received a phone call few times about the delay of opening date ... Long story short. MRDC Headstart edgewood actually opened up in their old location building which I found this out from my daughter's IFSA teacher (My daughter struggles with speech delay) I believe that was very unprofessional and/or discriminating to begin school elsewhere without contacting me. The teacher/staff has all my contact information home, Cell, mailing address and email. The staff contacted many times about the delay of the school's opening date but I didn't receive not one contact from them letting me know the opening date.
