  • If you and your family are looking for a safe environment, professional and educational look no further. I only have positive things to say about Pearl's. Our child was with the center since she was two and we wish the program could continue beyond her exit year. To those who are coming in please take my word don't look any further. It was a pleasure being a part of the Pearls family! I'm grateful they were able to add to the growth of our child. We never experienced any problems with the center. There was always adequate staff that were licensed and in place. The center was never closed without accommodating parents and communicating any changes. They were very reliable, no excuses. Now you see why we didn't want to leave. We loved Pearl's and we will try our best to stay connected.

  • Pearl's Too was a life saver & has been a blessing from day one! My daughter's previous daycare was closing and I was panicked to say the least. Finding a new daycare home is no small feat but gratefully I stumbled upon them right when they were about to have their open house. After our visit and my mom grilling Mr. D about their safety measures and protocols, we were sold. They are so kind, communicative and treat both of my children like their own. My little one loves her class and her friends and is thriving. I recommend Pearl's to anyone that even suggests needing childcare!

  • I am traumatized by this center. They mishandled and neglected my child. I am sharing my experience to bring awareness. It’s unfortunate that my child had to be the example. However, here we are. For starters, my child does have an underlying medical condition, which means her immune system and body does not work like a “normal” child. During the tour, I discussed this condition with both owner, Mrs. Brittney and the Assistant Director, Ms. Claudette. They assured me that my child would be in good hands and that they were well equipped to care for my child. Six months later, my child had a seizure due to dehydration, while in the care of this facility. My child had been out earlier this week due to a common cold virus and was cleared by her doctor to return to daycare. I dropped my child off at 10:32am, received an alert via Procare that she ate “most” of her lunch, all of the Mac and cheese, and drank her milk at 11:36 am. I received a phone call at 2:53 pm from Ms. Claudette informing me that she is on the other line with the EMTs because they believe my child is having a seizure. The FIRST thing I asked was what did she eat and what did she drink because I KNEW she was dehydrated. My child was was born with this underlying condition and has NEVER had a seizure prior to this incident. I was informed by the staff that she ate her most of her lunch, all of her Mac cheese and offered milk but she didn’t want it. Upon arrival, the EMS were on the scene and my child had come back to herself and out of the seizure AFTER being provided juice per the EMS instructions. I also learned that my child had vomit in her sleep during nap time. EMS instructed I take her to the hospital, which I did. I then learned that her seizure was brought on by a fever (no one checked her temperature at daycare) and caused by the dehydration. I scheduled a meeting with the the assistant director (Claudette), Owners (Brittney and her husband, Mr. Dee), and my child’s teacher. I requested to see the footage from that day and noted that my child was not offered anything to drink from the time she arrived to nap time (4 hours). I asked if her not having a wet diaper for 4 hours was alarming and Claudette responded, “this is not atypical”. Upon walking into this meeting Mr. Dee had an accusatory tone stating that it takes longer than 4 hours for dehydration to happen. I asked if he’s implying that I sent my child to daycare without eating? I also learned from the footage that 15 minute checks during nap time were not happening although I was informed that they were, which is why no one even noticed that my child had vomit during her nap. This left me very unsettled and disturbed. The meeting was not solution based, the center did not take any accountability and I was not provided any documentation about a plan moving forward or any proposal for future care with my child. My child did not return for another week. Upon returning the following week on Monday, I was denied entry stating that Mr. Dee (whom I’ve hardly had any interactions with aside from hi and bye!) sent me a message via Procare inquiring about a form to be signed by my child’s medical provider at 7 something that morning. I arrived at the center by 8:45/9:00am. I was met at the door by Claudette and denied entry because of this. I still had not received the form to my email until after I requested it. I then received the form close to 12pm. Although I preferred not to withdrawal my child so abruptly I was left with no choice due to the lack of professionalism, unpreparedness, and lack of communication. While Mrs. Britney remained professional throughout this process, my disgust with her staff outweighed this. It saddens me that her staff left such a bad taste in my mouth because this center does have potential. I wish Mrs. Brittney could’ve been more of a face to this center.

  • We had the pleasure of having all three of our little ones attend Pearl Too. It was their first daycare/preschool and summer camp experience, and it was an amazing one. The staff is so considerate, caring, down to earth and my children really enjoyed their time there. My kids really started to excel at their learning and educational interest and they loved the food (cooked in house). There were always stories about their day, activities, events and something fun going on for them. Great staff, clean facility, and just really good people. You won’t be disappointed.

  • As a service provider for a local program, Pearl’s Too has been inviting and professional partners. The staff are always engaging the children, have creative ideas, collaborate ways to support students, and eager to implement strategies we decide on as a team. I look forward to service sessions!

  • Our little one has been at Pearl’s Too since May 2024 and we’re having a great experience so far. The staff and the management are amazing. The facility is clean and sooo spacious! Our little one loves going to “school” and playing with his new friends. He loves his teachers. His teachers always have well thought-out activities and are great at communicating throughout the day by sending pictures and updates. We planned to be a at Pearl’s Too for the long haul.

Questions parents ask about Pearl's Too

Is Pearl's Too a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. Pearl's Too holds Maryland licence 1746225074198x856459101421069800, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Charles County. What does Maryland record about Pearl's Too's standing?

Maryland records Pearl's Too's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is Pearl's Too licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 6 infant places and 20 school-age places for Pearl's Too. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does this page show inspection results for Pearl's Too?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Pearl's Too's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
