Our family loves Growing Minds Learning Center! Serena creates a wonderfully loving, supporting, and creative environment for children of all ages. She has taken care of our son since birth and excels at creating a unique, tailored approach based on his interests. Through music, reading, sensory play, and art, our son has thrived and consistently met his developmental milestones under her care. Serena provides homemade nutritious meals and snacks that our son loves. She has also been teaching him Spanish and is even helping with potty training. As new parents, Serena made us feel at ease knowing our baby was going to be well taken care of and wasn't just a number. In the early days, she often noticed things before we did - like when our son's feeding, sleeping, or even diaper sizes needed adjustment. We were so incredibly grateful as new parents to have her careful attention to detail and feedback. We also appreciate Serena's willingness to be flexible with our schedule so we can attend early appointments. We have been so happy watching our son grow and develop under Serena's thoughtful care.
Caitlin SpargoFeb 12, 2026Growing Minds has been a great place for both of our kids. Serena is so caring and I know that she develops a strong bond with the kids. She takes great pictures and sends them home with art that we cherish. The class size is small, so they each get a lot of attention. I would highly recommend Growing Minds!
Emily B. JonesJun 19, 2025Changes their policies after contract is signed . She said she would refund money because their new hours didn’t work for us over the phone and writing and she now is refusing to . Then she said I give information to my pregnant wife when I made it clear I was the one coordinating daycare and she was too occupied working full time while pregnant . When I addressed this she said she would rather work with the moms. Outdated, and disrespectful to say that. Do not work with them
Brian DimockMar 1, 2025Serena and her staff create a nurturing and supportive environment. They update the app regularly so we receive updates and pictures throughout the day. Our son is always happy to see Serena and loves going there every day!
Kassie SavoyFeb 5, 2024Until our children started attending this family child care, I thought it was just a common phrase that "they will take care of your children as if they were their own." This is not just a phrase. This has been our experience with her program. Since he was an infant, our oldest son attended three different large childcare centers. They were fine, but we were just one a hundred families, looking to find personalized attention and care where there was none. We wanted our children to attend a program with structure, accountability and attention to personal growth. We wanted communication with our childrens' teachers about their daily routine, their growth, and other challenges we might not see at home. We found exactly what we were looking for at this family child care. So conveniently located for us across the street from the NIH, we quickly noticed differences about her program that quickly elevated it above the larger center-based programs. Montessori-type gross and fine motor skills activities. An emphasis on cooperative play and make-believe. Recognition of our children's strengths and tailoring activities to them. We never observed this level of attentiveness at the larger centers with our son, so when space was available we quickly enrolled his younger sister as well into her toddler program. After our third child was born, we reserved an infant space for her. We could not be happier with our decision to entrust all three of our children to the care of her program. We receive updates throughout the day in the form of pictures, meals/snacks and other activities through the app. Our older children LOVE her homemade and healthy lunches and snacks. We get the opportunity to talk to her every day about our children, which was never possible at the larger centers. Our children are getting the best of both worlds -- a high quality, safe and licensed early childcare experience with the love and care that only a family child care center like her's can provide.

Questions parents ask about Growing Minds Learning Center
Is Growing Minds Learning Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Growing Minds Learning Center holds Maryland licence 1746221956120x678694481971098200, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Montgomery County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to August 31, 2026. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Growing Minds Learning Center's standing?
- Maryland records Growing Minds Learning Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is Growing Minds Learning Center licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 4 infant places and 4 school-age places for Growing Minds Learning Center. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does Growing Minds Learning Center operate all year?
- Maryland records Growing Minds Learning Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Growing Minds Learning Center?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Growing Minds Learning Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
