mahlet aberaOct 2, 2025I confidently rate Smart Ed Daycare as the #1 daycare in Maryland. From day one, Ms. Zai and her amazing team have shown exceptional care, professionalism, and genuine love for children. The warmth, kindness, and supportive atmosphere make it feel like a second home. As a parent of two young children going through a tough time, Ms. Zai stepped in not just as a caregiver but as a true support system. Her dedication, wisdom, and nurturing spirit are unmatched she treats every child like her own and is always there for the parents too. Since switching to Smart Ed, my son is happier, more confident, and excited for daycare each day. The transformation in his behavior and social skills is remarkable. The environment is joyful, safe, and filled with well-mannered, happy children like one big, loving family. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you, Ms. Zai and the Smart Ed family, for making such a positive impact on our lives.
Ru ruJun 13, 2025I will never recommend this place even if this is the last place on earth. Let me start by saying that the owner seems very friendly. Initially in the process of enrolling my 3 y.o son, in several occasion, I was told different prices by the owner for enrolment and that did not alarm me in some reason. After my son enrolled into the program and every time, we pick him up we were told that he is doing great. But we found out that he was not eating their food and we started pack him a lunch but we also found out that he was not given the lunch that was packed. As days went on, we noticed a behavioral change, we never seen before from throwing things, having difficulty falling as sleep, crying more than usual and pushing his sister like something random and STARTED HIDING BEHIND US WHEN HE SEES a STRANGER that he never did before. Whatever they were doing to him and treating him, he started defend himself by saying no and crying more than usual. BY the end of the 3rd week, they told us their reason that they cannot have him in any more for a sudden but that turned out for good. It will be a mystery for me forever what happened to him in that learning daycare center and sending my son there was one of my worst decisions by far. If you already have enrolled your child and you notice some change you better do something about it right away. I was lucky enough that my son reacted sooner and we prevented more damage to his health and save more traumatize. We immediately started working with him to recover him from what ever happened to him and we were be able to reverse it right away. DO NOT be a foolish and be aware of any changes to your precious child to act right away. Think twice before enrolled your child there unless that would be your last resort.
RasDejen Z GondarApr 14, 2025I recommend this day care 100%. My daughter is been going to this day care for about 9 months. She started going there since 16 months old and she is happy and learning alot. Ms Zai(the owner) is so caring and has so much patience with kids. All the stuffs are very nice as well. I am glad I chose this daycare.
Alemtsahay HaileslassieMay 6, 2023I would definitely recommend this daycare. I took 2 of my babies this daycare. I was extremely nervous at first because it was my first time taking my kids to daycare but the owner Ms.Zai promised that they were in good hands. I got really comfortable and trusted them. I like it because the staff is constant so my kids are able to connect to the same teachers. Teachers all have be daycare teachers for a long time. They prioritize cleaning. She provides food and also made sure they kept the same diet they do a home. I love that there is no TVs so my kids we’re only doing hands on and playing activities. They also have a big play area for kids outside divided into different age groups. Ms.Zai the owner is sooo sweet she really is understanding and loves all of the kids there as her own. She pays attention to the little things. Prices are also affordable compare to other centers in area. Honestly grateful and glad I pick this place for my children.
Benita MccoyNov 23, 2021Ms. Samina is very nice, kind and patient. All the kids love her, my daughter has started to go there when she was 2 and now that she's 4, I have never regretted my choice of daycare. The staff is very nice too, the kids learn a lot and they have lot's of fun there!

Questions parents ask about Smart - Ed Early Learning Center
Is Smart - Ed Early Learning Center a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. Smart - Ed Early Learning Center holds Maryland licence 1746219725783x330407815053570100, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Montgomery County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to March 30, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about Smart - Ed Early Learning Center's standing?
- Maryland records Smart - Ed Early Learning Center's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is Smart - Ed Early Learning Center licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 3 infant places and 19 school-age places for Smart - Ed Early Learning Center. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does Smart - Ed Early Learning Center operate all year?
- Maryland records Smart - Ed Early Learning Center as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for Smart - Ed Early Learning Center?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Smart - Ed Early Learning Center's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
