  • A letter we wrote to the director sums up our review…. TJ and I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge how incredible both Helena and Kathleen have been with our son. As you know our lives have been totally flipped upside down with this insurance claim and hotel life. Being at school is like a second home for our so. Over the summer he had so much anxiety with the changes of being at school and away from us. Helena and Kathleen suggested we keep him a kitten until December while he got his footing. Since they were familiar faces and everything in his home life would be unfamiliar it seemed like the logical choice going into the school year and it turned out to be the best choice we’ve made. He is thriving with them. He loves his friends his has made, he sings his ABCs, he counts to 10, he tells us all about his day and loves looking at all of his pictures from the day when he gets home. From being scared to walk into the building and throwing up every day from anxiety to asking to see his teachers and friends when we are at home. We couldn’t have asked for better teachers and we really felt it in our hearts to let you and Michael know just how incredible these two women are. Teachers are some of the most undervalued people and we are sure to a lot of families you guys are just a place to just drop off their kids while they are working but for us we wanted a place where our son could feel like it was his second home. Helena and Kathleen have taken such care and time with him and worked with him at his pace to build trust. The other day I was moved to tears when I got a video of him painting by himself for the first time. There has been a lot of darknesses lately but these two ladies have helped give us so much light and we are truly grateful. We are so incredibly sad that his time as a kitten is winding down but we will be forever grateful to them for giving him a strong springboard into his education. These things really do matter. Thank you so much Goddard and the Kittens class for allowing our sweet boy the space to grow and feel safe and for giving us his parents the comfort knowing that he is ok, and that with love and guidance at Goddard the sky is the limit. Our hearts are full. At a time when so much seems so unsure this just seems so right. We are forever grateful, thank you for this. These teachers should be celebrated to the max. They are the reason we stayed at Goddard!!!

  • I am absolutely thrilled with our experience at this preschool, where my child recently graduated. The staff is exceptional, always demonstrating care, professionalism, and a genuine interest in each child’s development. They create a nurturing environment that has helped my child flourish both academically and socially. The management team is fantastic, consistently ensuring that the school runs smoothly and efficiently. Communication is a top priority here, and I am always kept informed about my child’s progress, upcoming events, and any important updates. This level of transparency and involvement is truly appreciated. One of the standout features of this preschool is the wide variety of activities they offer. From educational projects to fun and engaging playtime, there’s never a dull moment. My child has enjoyed every moment and has developed new skills and interests thanks to these well-planned activities. Additionally, the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of care and education provided. It is clear that the school is committed to providing an excellent preschool experience without placing a financial burden on families. Overall, I highly recommend this preschool to any parent looking for a top-notch preschool. It has been a wonderful journey, and I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my child’s early years.

  • We have been a Goddard family for over a year, first with our daughter (now in pre-school) and shortly after, our son, who started in the infant classroom last year. Both have done incredibly well since joining with all aspects of development, and we love seeing them enjoy going to school every day. All of the teachers have been wonderful - learning and meeting the needs of our kids - and truly care about their wellbeing. We also appreciate the countless enrichment activities that the school incorporates (Spanish, Mandarin, music, soccer, etc.).

  • Our son has been at Goddard Bethesda for a couple months and we’ve been so happy with our decision. His teachers take excellent care of him, and we’ve already noticed him making great progress in reaching developmental milestones. We really appreciate the detailed daily reports and adorable photos throughout the day. The school is extremely well-run, and has a wonderful sense of local community and identity. We’re super grateful to be at Goddard Bethesda!

  • My 3 YO has been at Goddard for 2 years and my infant since he was 3 months old. The teachers are amazing and take such loving care of the kids. They do a great job in teaching through play. My daughter has loved every teacher, and our son is so happy going to his infant classroom. The directors are also wonderful and foster a great community and support system. There are also other perks, like Parents Night Out, a monthly event on Saturdays that gives us an opportunity to have reliable childcare so we can have time to ourselves. There are frequent transitions to new classrooms, which can be a bit difficult at times, but it hasn't impacted our overall experience.

  • As a parent, I understand how hard it is to find the right daycare and preschool. For the past two years, both our kids have been going to Goddard Bethesda and we feel fortunate to be a part of the community. What sets Goddard Bethesda apart is its teachers and staff. They are hard-working and dedicated. You can tell they pour their energy and time into caring and teaching. And the kids love their teachers. Goddard Bethesda has a diverse and interesting curriculum with specialty classes including arts, music, sports and foreign language. My kids have shown a lot of growth. Highly recommended.

Questions parents ask about The Goddard School of Bethesda

Is The Goddard School of Bethesda a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

The Goddard School of Bethesda holds Maryland licence 1746209750051x842768402188900400, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Montgomery County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to August 31, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about The Goddard School of Bethesda's standing?

Maryland records The Goddard School of Bethesda's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is The Goddard School of Bethesda licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 30 infant places for The Goddard School of Bethesda. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does The Goddard School of Bethesda operate all year?

Maryland records The Goddard School of Bethesda as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for The Goddard School of Bethesda?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects The Goddard School of Bethesda's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
