My child has attended at 2 and now in pre-k. She has learned a lot since starting there and now doing a wonderful job in pre-K.
Kyanna EdwardsFeb 27, 2026My two kids and my nephew have been attending this daycare since May 2024, and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the very beginning, the staff has been incredibly caring, professional, and patient. My kids have grown and developed so much — both socially and academically — and they truly enjoy coming here every day. I’ve never had a single complaint about the teachers, the staff, or how the children are treated. The environment is always clean, welcoming, and full of positive energy. It’s clear that everyone here genuinely loves what they do and cares deeply about the kids’ happiness and well-being. I highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a safe, nurturing, and supportive place for their children. We’re very happy and grateful to have found such a wonderful team! And I have to mention — Ms. Wendy has been the best Assistant Director EVER! She’s always so professional, kind, and attentive. Over the past years, she’s shown nothing but dedication and care for every child and family. We truly appreciate everything she does and couldn’t ask for a better person in her role!
j gNov 10, 2025I have been bringing my children to The Joy of Learning Center in Lanham for nearly three years now, and I couldn’t be happier with the care and attention they’ve received. My daughter started attending when she was just 4 months old, and now at 3 years old, she absolutely loves going to daycare every day. From the very beginning, every single teacher has made her feel welcomed, loved, and special. It’s clear that the staff genuinely care about her development and well-being. They’ve always been open and clear in communicating any updates or answering questions I have, which gives me such peace of mind as a parent. One of the things that always stands out to me is how warmly she is greeted each morning—it sets such a positive tone for her day and mine. I now have a 3-month-old son who recently started at the center, and I have no doubt that he is in the best hands. The teachers have taken every precaution to ensure his safety and comfort throughout the day. Their focus on cleanliness, safety, and attentiveness is something I truly appreciate and never take for granted. A special thank you to Ms. Wendy, the assistant director, who has gone above and beyond in every aspect. Whether it’s answering my many questions, guiding me through the enrollment process, or just checking in to see how we’re doing—she has been incredibly supportive and kind. Her dedication and care shine through in everything she does. The Joy of Learning Center has truly become an extension of our family, and I’m so grateful to have found a place where both of my children are nurtured, safe, and genuinely happy.
Brittany HondoyOct 9, 2025JOLC is the best daycare ever!!! I’m so glad I could get a spot for both kids. My children are so happy to get to school in the morning and literally never want to leave. The curriculum is spectacular, STEM based, from writing to reading, learning colors, building things, being creative, learning Science and keeping the kids engaged. The Staff keeps you informed every step of the way, from pictures to check ins and you can communicate directly with your kids teacher any time. The entire staff has such a beautiful spirit and energy every day!!! That’s hard to find. The kids are always happy and well taken care of. Special mention to Ms Bianca, Ms Wendy, Ms Samantha, Ms Anna, Ms Mea, Ms Kyanna, Ms Jessica, Ms Claudia, Ms Shirley and all the other wonderful staff I can’t mention. Thank you for all your love to the kids and the hard work all the teachers put in everyday. Did I almost forget to mention the beautiful Kids programs almost every month and most recently they were so thoughtful to have a “Parents night out” on a Saturday where they kept the kids entertained for 4 full hours so we parents could have some alone time. 😍😍😍😍I’ll always be grateful to JOLC. 🎉🎉🎉🎉💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Stephanie IbeDec 10, 2024Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Weekly updates of the curriculum make for an easy transition into using some skills at home. Fast and timely updates on the app as well as phone calls when needed. Love the closed class and outside time that is provided . Overall great experience with the Joy of Learning as a first time parent.
Shelby WaiteDec 10, 2024Our daughter attended here for a year and a half and only left because we moved away from Maryland. This place exceeded our expectations in just about every way. Incredibly caring staff coupled with effective management and communication. If you live in the area, it's a great pick.

Questions parents ask about The Joy of Learning - Lanham
Is The Joy of Learning - Lanham a licensed child care provider in Maryland?
- Yes. The Joy of Learning - Lanham holds Maryland licence 1746215752389x733184050940104200, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Prince George's County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to September 30, 2027. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.
What does Maryland record about The Joy of Learning - Lanham's standing?
- Maryland records The Joy of Learning - Lanham's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.
How many children is The Joy of Learning - Lanham licensed for?
- Maryland's record lists 6 infant places and 5 school-age places for The Joy of Learning - Lanham. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.
Does The Joy of Learning - Lanham operate all year?
- Maryland records The Joy of Learning - Lanham as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.
Does this page show inspection results for The Joy of Learning - Lanham?
- No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects The Joy of Learning - Lanham's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
