  • Our family has been a part of The Valley School community since 2021 and we couldn’t be happier! We feel so fortunate that our children are under the care of such a loving staff. Our kids have a great time and are excited to go to school. My oldest just completed the pre-k program and he is ready to take on kindergarten! As a parent, I have also felt supported- the teachers and management are always willing to communicate and guide us through challenging moments. If you are searching for childcare in the Middletown area, I highly recommend scheduling a tour!

  • Was OK a few years ago but has really gone downhill. Staff turnover is extremely high. Random high school kids seem to help in the afternoon, probably because they can pay them less than qualified caregivers. Your kids will get sick while going here, then they refuse for days or weeks to take them back forcing you to take time off work while still paying them for childcare that they aren't actually providing. Your child gets a fever while they're cutting teeth? They call you and threaten to call CPS if you don't pick them up in an hour. We work 70 miles away, sometimes that just isn't possible. They will nickle and dime you to death, extra fees for everything. Why can't they just include this stuff in tuition? They even charge you to pay them, no matter what method you use. This place seems way more concerned with their bottom line than with providing a quality and nurturing care environment for children who have parents that both work. Unfortunately, the options in Middletown are limited. There are better providers in other nearby towns though. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

  • The Valley School has the best staff and they are so very kind and gracious to the children that attend there. From the director down to the teachers everyone is just so kind and respectful. The communication is better than any other daycare my daughter has ever been too. And the summer camp is so engaging, everyday they had something for the kids to do. I will miss this school so very much and hope to come back next summer!!!

  • We LOVE the Valley School! Our daughter has been attending for over two years now, she has wonderful relationships with her classmates, teachers, and school director- whom she hugs every evening before leaving! We cannot say enough great things about the Valley School, their staff, and the care they provide for our daughter. We LOVE our Valley School family ❤️

  • Our son had been going there since kindergarten. We sent notification in that we will be looking to have him come back in the fall of this year September 2022. About 2 weeks before school started we still haven't heard from them so we followed up and that is when they informed us that there was no room for him. They then said they could squeeze him in and that we would have to pay full rate meaning he would only be there in the afternoon but we would still have to pay for both morning and afternoon sessions even though he wasn't going to be there in the morning. The lack of communication was dissatisfying and disappointing. For the most part our son had a good experience there there were a few ups and downs and the turnover rate on the staff is pretty frequent. But the staff that did take care of her child was good for the most part. The turnover of staff is frequent as well as assistant director positions. We feel the way this was handled was very unprofessional. Wish we could have ended on a better note.

  • My daughters have been going here for almost a year now. They both LOVE it. They do so many creative activities, they bring home all sorts of awesome crafts, I keep all of them! My oldest daughter has learned so much in a short time. My youngest might even like one of her teachers more then mom and dad! We are so thankful for all that they do for the kids, and all of the teachers and helpers are awesome!

Questions parents ask about The Valley School

Is The Valley School a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. The Valley School holds Maryland licence 1746220129311x863404351461721100, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Frederick County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to January 31, 2028. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about The Valley School's standing?

Maryland records The Valley School's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is The Valley School licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 3 infant places and 30 school-age places for The Valley School. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does The Valley School operate all year?

Maryland records The Valley School as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for The Valley School?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects The Valley School's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
