  • Literally online says you don't need to be with a member to get a day pass but if u walk in they tell u they don't offer day passes at all. THEN CHANGE YOUR DAMN WEBSITE!!!! Because now my family can't even swim close to our house because of false information or the lady at the desk is just an ignorant person. Idk either way this is bs.

  • Brilliant! This Y doesn’t play any music, TV’s or sound of any kind in the lifting/cardio rooms so the voices in your head are the loudest they’ll ever be, you’ll hear every single person struggling for breath, and be privy to everyone else’s conversations. If your vibe is ‘quiet as a graveyard or library’, this is your gym!

  • This gym has so much potential but they do nothing for crowd control. Even on a Tuesday morning, you can find every machine taken. This area is in desperate need of another gym. If you don't mind having to babysit machines, then you'll have everything you need to get a workout in.

  • This YMCA is one of the better Y's in terms of special lay out and size. However, it is quickly becoming perpetually busy and finding room to workout is an increasing problem. There is not enough free weights to accommodate the amount of people trying to use them and everyone is sharing basically one set of weights per weight. As soon as there's another gym in the area, I will be leaving the Y or I actually might just revamp my own home gym because it really is that bad.

  • The facility is clean, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and the pool is large enough for decent lap swimming. My only complaint with this YMCA location is the sauna. This YMCA used to have a sauna in the men’s room and another sauna in the women’s room. A few years ago they closed down the gender segregated saunas and opened one sauna by the pool. It’s problematic for many reasons, it’s awkward going into the sauna as a woman when it’s a bunch of dudes in there. There’s also no shower near the sauna, so you can’t quickly shower after using the sauna before jumping into the pool. Then there’s the weird trend of gym bros who go into the sauna wearing their sweatpants, a sweatshirt, and sneakers. When people wear their clothing into the sauna, it smells like a dirty laundry hamper. Not very relaxing. I’ve never seen anywhere else where people go into a sauna wearing dirty gym clothes.

  • It wouldn’t be Cecil County without racism. An older white desk attendant proceeded to interrogate me about the validity of my membership by asking me multiple times “Are you from around here?” After I confirmed every time, but even if I wasn’t my membership is nationwide, which I informed her of. An older Black woman joined in the conversation and did not help the hostile and uncomfortable situation her coworker created. I suggest anyone Black or of color to be cautious if you can’t avoid this place all together.

Questions parents ask about YMCA of Cecil County

Is YMCA of Cecil County a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. YMCA of Cecil County holds Maryland licence 1746225383518x728541910281160300, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Cecil County. The licence is recorded as Continuing - Full, running to October 31, 2026. Confirm current standing with the Office of Child Care before enrolling.

What does Maryland record about YMCA of Cecil County's standing?

Maryland records YMCA of Cecil County's status as "In Good Standing". That is a single status field in a snapshot, not a compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. Maryland publishes inspection findings separately at checkccmd.org and they are not included here.

How many children is YMCA of Cecil County licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 24 school-age places for YMCA of Cecil County. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does YMCA of Cecil County operate all year?

Maryland records YMCA of Cecil County as a "Full Year" programme. That is the schedule on the licence record rather than a timetable, so confirm term dates and closures with the provider.

Does this page show inspection results for YMCA of Cecil County?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects YMCA of Cecil County's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
