  • Young horizon is an amazing school from the owner, to the director; down to the teachers. My daughter started when she was just a little under 2 years old and sadly our time is coming to an end. As she will start kindergarten this fall! If you looking for a school that teaches your child independence. While also prepare your child academically for different educational stages young horizons is the place to be. From learning how to write to drawing and tracing letterr young horizons is the place to be!

  • My kids are having an amazing experience at Young Horizon School. My daughter loves Ms. Stephanie; the teachers in Infant 1 have been incredible for our daughter. They create a warm, caring, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. We have seen so much growth in our daughter’s communication, and social skills thanks to Ms. Stephanie’s patience, encouragement, and dedication.

  • We are so grateful for everything Miss Brenda and Miss Mari have done for our daughter. From the very beginning, they welcomed her with so much love, patience, and encouragement. Because of them, she has learned and grown in so many ways—not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. They genuinely care about every child in their classroom and treat each one with kindness, respect, and love. It's clear that teaching isn't just a job for them—it's their passion. They create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel happy, confident, and excited to learn. Thank you both for giving our daughter such a wonderful start—we will always be grateful for everything you've done!

  • This review is not about the teachers—it’s about the complete failure of management. The way our family was treated on our two-year-old son’s first day was completely unacceptable. We arrived around 8:30 a.m. for his very first day and stood at the front waiting to be welcomed or given some direction. No one acknowledged us. No one greeted us. No one seemed to know—or care—that a brand-new family was walking through the doors. After waiting about 10 minutes, a teacher from another classroom popped her head out and told us to place our son in another room because his teacher was running late. Teachers run late sometimes—that’s understandable. The teacher did the best she could in an awkward situation. The real problem was management. The director was in the building and fully aware of what was happening, yet never came over to introduce herself, welcome us, explain the morning routine, or offer even the smallest amount of reassurance. Watching the director ignore a family on their child’s first day was shocking. Your first interaction with a daycare tells parents everything about the culture of the organization. If management can’t be bothered to greet a family during one of the most important moments in their childcare journey, it raises serious concerns about the level of leadership and attention given to everything else. I left in tears. No parent should walk away from their child’s first daycare drop-off feeling abandoned, invisible, and wondering if they made a terrible mistake. Management often talks about building relationships and earning parents’ trust. Trust isn’t built through brochures or tours—it’s built in moments like this. Unfortunately, management completely failed ours. I hope the owner takes this seriously because first impressions matter, and this one was terrible.

  • Horrible experience - find another daycare! Aggressive/violent behavior by other children in my child's class was dismissed as the child being bored. Forced to select a full-time schedule when my part-time schedule was already established. Several times, my child came home sick; disease outbreaks in the classroom. Watched on the camera and during pick-ups/drop-offs never saw any cleaning happening. No smell of bleach or cleaning products - EVER. They herd all of the kids into the bathroom together (boys and girls), kids sitting there staring at other naked children. Ownership and leadership have a very lax and uncaring attitude towards children's wellbeing and parent's concerns. The only thing that seems to matter is the money - these aren't products being built, they are CHILDREN that parents are entrusting to these people.

  • Our daughter graduated a few months ago and we have zero regrets. The teachers were great - engaged with kiddo and kept us (parents) updated with regular messages and media. Conflicts and accidents, an unavoidable fact of life around you kids, were handled well and treated as learning moments. We always felt respected and our kid felt safe and happy. She even kept friendships from here after moving on to kindergarten. Highly recommend!

Questions parents ask about Young Horizons School

Is Young Horizons School a licensed child care provider in Maryland?

Yes. Young Horizons School holds Maryland licence 1746215747739x807707170015171200, listed as "CONTINUING - FULL" by the Office of Child Care, Maryland State Department of Education in Howard County. How many children is Young Horizons School licensed for?

Maryland's record lists 12 infant places for Young Horizons School. Those are the only two age bands this dataset publishes, so they are not a total capacity and do not describe toddler or preschool places. Ask the provider for its full licensed capacity.

Does this page show inspection results for Young Horizons School?

No. Maryland inspects licensed child care programmes and publishes the results through Check Child Care Maryland at checkccmd.org. Those reports are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Young Horizons School's inspection history either way. This page's record comes from Maryland Family Network's LOCATE service, which carries licence and status data rather than inspection findings.
