Miss Sugarmans School For Extraordinary Children

Where do I even begin! I was introduced to Rachel Sugarman over the Facebook page childcare in Gardiner, ME! It was summer of 2025 and my back was seriously injured. I was having neurological issues due to my back injury and I was struggling to balance everything in life- especially my two beautiful children who were 3 and 7. I put out a semi desperate plea for help- and Rachel Sugarman immediately reached out and offered her help, even when she didn’t know who I was, or what was even happening. I was thrilled to hear from someone so promptly, and also be greeted so open heartedly. Every interaction I have with MissSugarman is like that- she always greets you so open heartedly- no matter what is happening in her own world. I had messaged Rachel back very interested in getting my children over to her center! She was prompt and set up a meeting and helped walk me through the paperwork. She had a beautiful space- so many amazing new learning resource toys for the children to be coming in to enjoy. These toys were very well thought out toys. Toys that help with enrichment and fine motor skills. Miss sugarman truly is the depiction of “I will do anything to make sure that these children are getting the education they deserve, no matter what hurdle it may cause” she is truly truly in it for the children - as well as her sidekick Morgan; and other staff members. There is NEVER a time my family has ever felt unwelcome by Rachel and her team. We are ALWAYS greeted with a smile- and always feel so welcome and genuinely happy to be in the building. I can have my child who is 3 years old feel absolutely safe, happy, welcome, and comfortable while learning is such an amazing blessing- and Rachel sugarman INSURES that is what will be happening. My daughter, who is 3 has not only completely blossomed in a few short months, but has become more confident with her language, her emotions and her fine motor skills. My daughter is able to identify feelings, match needed clothes to different seasons, make new friends, become a social butterfly and feel welcome and supported to do so, and create so many fun crafts and silly songs. My daughter has truly become attached to the school, and always gets up every morning ready to go- as soon as her eyes open, she’s asking for Miss Morgan. This school has given my family so much support, and my daughter necessary routine and structure; and I as the parent can sit back and know that my child IS TRULY at the best place she possibly could be. Rachel not only wanted to help us immediately out of the kindness of her heart, but she has continuously supported our family; always making us feel safe, happy and welcome; and ensuring our children are getting THE BEST CARE they could possibly be receiving. Thank you Miss Morgan, Miss Sugarman, Miss Lisa and the rest of the staff at Miss Sugarmans school for Exraordinary kids. It is truly Extraordinary- for we have never ran into a place in 7 years that cares this much about your Jules social and emotional welfare. We love you all- and we are blessed to be a part of such an amazing and incredible organization. If you do anything- send your children to Rachel’s school. You will be everything under the sun and the moon but disappointed. It is truly a once in a lifetime place. 🙏

Absolutely recommend! I love that they communicate throughout the day how everything is going. My daughter loves going and is excited every morning to see her friends and teachers! I trust Miss Sugarman to know whats best for not only my daughter, but the rest of the kids as well.

We love SSEC! Our daughter goes part time, and always has such a fun time. The teachers, and director are both incredibly supportive and considerate of the children’s needs, along with being great with communication and updates throughout the day. I especially like being able to use the app to communicate with the teachers, check in on my daughter throughout the day, and get pictures! The teaching style is very hands on, and child led. They have projects and crafts each day. Along with multiple opportunities to get outside and play. Our daughter had never been in a daycare or preschool environment before Miss Sugarman’s, so we were nervous at first, but they made quick friends with our kiddo, and are very intentional about the group of children they have in the program. It ensures there is a good flow, and each child gets an equal amount of one on one attention! If you’re considering sending your child, I do highly recommend getting in touch with Rachel Sugarman to come see the space!

My faughter is 8 and has been going to miss sugarmans for almost a year now. She loves being there .my daughter struggled with austic behaviors and social skills. This school has provided her with tools to learn different ways to navigate her struggles . I have seen her excell daily .The school is amazing she does all kinds of crafts and activities all based around learning, even through the summer, when she went back to school she was already prepared for the school year. You wants a amazing program for your children this is it .

Miss Sugarmans has been a positive, enriching, fun experience for my granddaughter. We’re so happy to have found Miss Rachael. There are tons of activities for the kids and never a dull moment. I’m very impressed with Miss Rachael’s knowledge as a teacher, and the kindness she shows each individual child. Also, the families of the children are like having added family. We are incredibly grateful for Miss Sugarmans School!
