  • My son is 7 and has been going to the Neighborhood child care in vassalboro for the past two years. Its a safe place with good communication. My son loves all of the dedicated staff members, who all go above and beyond. I would high recommend.

  • We have been attending the Vassalboro Neighborhood Child Care for 5 years now. The staff is top notch- I couldn’t ask for better providers! They go above and beyond to give the kids a fun, safe, educational environment to thrive in.

  • Do not recommand for toddlers (3-4yo) They expect even the 3yos to be able to take care of themselves as if they were 5. If an accident occurs they expect even the toddlers to clean themselves up independently in the restroom with nothing more then the cheap toliet paper. This is a child-watche facility. Not a child-care facility. Staff are not very approachable and they allowed my partner to get my son without verifying his identity. They had never met him before. What if he were just a stranger or person not approved to pick up my son? My partner was not greated when he arrived either, he had to catch someones attention to ask where to find my son. They still never asked who he was. So overall I guess, do not recommand for children of any age. They do not follow proper safety procedures. (Ps. The only other review which is a 5 star rating, is by Carrigan the lady who runs the day to day at the daycare. Not a real review) To reply to their comment to me: No, there is no way staff remember him from over a month ago stopping in for 2mins. Yes care was explained to me, which was apparently a very glorified version of what you actually offer. As I never saw alot of what was said. Most often two people for the toddler group? Didn't see that once. You think exceptional care is leaving a toddler alone in the bathroom to clean up with cheep toliet paper on their own? Because that is what i witnessed several times. Do not over sell the "care" you provide to future parents. Everyone I've spoken to has said the lack of care I've explained sounds just like your place. You should also take down the bias review that offers no actual information from the lady who runs the day to day there. It's more than a bit unprofessional.

  • Professionally, I can certainly say that the staff located within The Neighborhood Child Care programs, which are located in Winslow and Vassalboro, go above and beyond for families. Each and every member participates in extensive amounts of training hours each and every year. All staff exceed all requirements in regards to State of Maine licensing. Many staff also hold ed tech authorizations. All staff strive to make every day a success for each child while they are enrolled within the program. All requirements for enrollment are thoroughly discussed before registration is completed to ensure that The Neighborhood will be a great fit for the success of the child, every single day. Each Director and the Exeuttive Director make themselves readily available whenever families would like to discuss any concerns or if they have any questions. My personal experiencces with The Neighborhood Child Care Center have not only been met, but have been exceeded with the outstanding care and compassion that staff have provided to my sibling and children over the years. I appreciate the communication and care that has always been provided. Thank you to all support staff, leadership staff, Directors, Executive Director and any additional members that have been involved with these programs!
