In a world filled with educational options, ASA Academy stands head and shoulders above every other educational institution in the Southeast Michigan. As parents, we are incredibly grateful for the way ASA has nurtured, challenged, and prepared our children for the next chapter of their educational journey. From the classroom to the community, ASA creates an environment where students are not only equipped academically but are also encouraged to become engaged, responsible, and compassionate members of society. What truly sets ASA apart is its leadership. Under the direction of its outstanding director and supported by a dedicated, passionate staff, the school demonstrates an unwavering commitment to excellence in education and the holistic development of every child. The educators and team members genuinely care about their students, ensuring that each child feels seen, valued, loved, and supported. Our children have grown academically, socially, and personally because of the investment ASA has made in their lives. The culture of encouragement, accountability, and opportunity has given them the confidence to pursue their dreams and believe in their God-given potential. We wholeheartedly recommend ASA Academy to any family seeking a school that not only educates students but also inspires them to become their very best selves. ASA is more than a school, it is a community that changes lives. And although our kids have aged out and moved up I’m proud that ASA was there to prepare them for their next steps.
Torion BridgesJun 16, 2026I would like to share some concerns regarding the overall value and consistency of the services provided. First, while food is catered monthly, there does not appear to be any form of credit or adjustment for the numerous holidays, scheduled breaks, snow days, or instances when a child is absent for any reason. This makes it difficult to feel that the cost accurately reflects the actual services received. Additionally, the handling of snow days feels inconsistent. There are occasions when nearly all surrounding schools are closed due to severe weather, yet the school remains open in extremely low temperatures, while other days with similar conditions result in closures. This inconsistency is frustrating and creates unnecessary challenges for families. During harsh weather conditions, it would also be reasonable to offer a short grace period for drop-offs—even five minutes. This would show understanding and flexibility, especially when many schools are closed and parents are navigating unsafe driving conditions. Habitual lateness is one thing, but grace during extreme circumstances would be appreciated. I would also like to note concerns regarding staff interactions. One staff member with curly gray hair consistently comes across as unkind and unwelcoming, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. The presence of negative energy should not be overlooked in an environment meant to support children and families. Academically, my children are doing well, and I appreciate that aspect of the program. However, overall, I do not feel that I am fully receiving the value of what I am paying for, particularly when considering the lack of flexibility, consistency, and customer consideration.
Samoyia SmithJan 29, 2026For the past four years, my two children have been attending this school. During that time, I’ve only had one issue—and even that was minor. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the education and care they’ve received. Academically, my children have consistently been one to two grade levels ahead of their peers who attend Charter or DPS schools, which speaks volumes about the school’s curriculum and the dedication of the staff. I truly appreciate all the hard work the teachers and staff have put into supporting my children’s growth alongside me. The only suggestion I would make is that the school consider expanding its grade offerings to include up to 8th grade. This would allow families like mine to continue with the same high-quality education we’ve come to value so much.
Ellie Mae JenkinsApr 12, 2025My daughter has been in attendance here for about 6 months. She’s learned so much in the short time, she’s 3 and writes her name free hand she knows her letters and numbers and I can’t believe how much she’s learned in the small time she’s been here. I tell everyone about this place because they are so hands on and the extra activities are a bonus. It’s an advance program so I was worried my child wouldn’t catch on but she’s doing great she’s learning she’s retaining the information and the staff is very hands on they go above and beyond with these kids and when they have special events they show out!! I’m truly impressed and will keep my child here
Chanel DavisonDec 26, 2024My name is Ms.Kimberly Jackson and I have had the pleasure of being apart of this business with 4 of my kids.I have been with ASA Prep for over 10 years and hands down they are one of the best schools out.The staff is caring and polite.Mrs.Byrd is very professional and understanding. If you are looking for a business that cares about your child and actually teaches them the fundamentals needed for another level this is the place.
