  • Our daughter has been attending for years and is getting ready for kindergarten in the fall. We feel she is so well prepared and would not hesitate to recommend Children's Place Montessori to other parents in the area.

  • My son went here for 2 years, he grew so much during his time with the Montessori. The teachers are incredible and so patient. I would highly recommend them!

  • I don’t usually write reviews, but as a mother, I feel compelled to speak on what happened at this Montessori preschool — not just for my daughter, but for any parent who might be thinking about trusting this place like I did. I enrolled my 3-year-old daughter with so much hope. She’s sweet, bright, and curious — and like many children her age, she’s still learning how to navigate new environments. I was completely transparent from the start: I shared that she has a slight speech delay and may need a little time to adjust. I was reassured that this would be a nurturing, supportive environment focused on emotional and social development. That they would work with her. But they didn’t even give her a chance. On her very first day, she walked in confidently, said “Good morning,” and went straight into the classroom without a single tear. I was so proud of her. Less than an hour later, I got a phone call saying she was dumping out toys and not following directions. They also said she had taken her shoes off outside — something she always does when playing in the grass at home. I calmly explained that she was probably overstimulated and excited, which is completely normal for a 3-year-old on their first day in a new environment. I was told to help reinforce directions at home, and I agreed. Ten minutes later, they called again and told me to come pick her up. When I arrived, the front door was locked. The owner — the same person who had once reassured me this school would be a great fit — didn’t even come out to speak to me. Instead, she walked away and had a younger woman come out to tell me to pick up my daughter at the 3-year-old classroom side door. That alone felt cold and dismissive. When I got there, my daughter greeted me with a cheerful “Hi Momma,” completely unaware of the weight of the moment. The teacher handed me her backpack, a typed letter saying she couldn’t return until she could meet “3-year-old tasks,” and a refund check — but even then, they charged me the full $75 for a half day, even though she was only there for an hour and a half, not the full 3.5 hours I paid for. And what truly broke my heart was being told they were concerned my daughter might harm herself or another child. That accusation was completely baseless. My daughter is not aggressive in any way. She has never hurt another child, never been violent, and never shown that kind of behavior in any setting — not at home, not in playgroups, not in public. To hear that after just one hour in a brand-new environment — with no history, no relationship, no grace — felt like a cruel excuse to justify removing her. What they did wasn’t just unprofessional — it was emotionally careless and developmentally inappropriate. This wasn’t how an early childhood educator should handle a young child’s adjustment period. And it definitely wasn’t how any parent should be treated after being promised patience and support. This wasn’t just about one school day. It was about trust — and watching adults give up on a child at the first sign of challenge. My daughter is a kind, playful little girl. She deserved compassion. She deserved a chance to grow. She deserved better. If your child is still growing, still learning, still human — like every 3-year-old is — please think twice before putting them here. What we experienced wasn’t Montessori. It wasn’t supportive. And it certainly wasn’t what they claimed to stand for. It was rejection. And it hurt.

  • My son has been enrolled with CP Montessori since he was 7 months old and it has been the best experience for us! He truly loves going to daycare and we love his teachers. They truly care about him and always make sure we are updated with his day and any classroom news! Couldn’t have enrolled him in a better place that we trust and know he is safe!

  • My family enrolled two of our children with Marie and CP Montessori over the last roughly 4 years and our experience with the care they received was excellent. The facility is well maintained, well-staffed, and well designed. I always felt it was very safe, and very clean. Our children learned social and practical skills from the staff and always came home happy and well cared for. I feel that the education they received gave them a jump start towards preschool and ultimately primary school. My only criticism would be on the cost of the care (this is likely one of the nicest facilities in the downriver area and you will pay a material premium for that). With that being said, I always appreciated Marie's transparency in pricing on her website. Also, a need for some more flexibility on drop off or pickup times. We were never charged erroneously for a late pickup, but considering the cost, having the standard drop off and pickup time the same as the local school districts without some flexibility made for some challenging mornings and afternoons. However, I don't think there is any other place downriver I would consider enrolling my infant or very young children. I never dropped off my children worried that they wouldn't be cared for, and never picked up my children worrying they had a bad day. Ultimately this is the most important thing in my eyes and for that reason I completely recommend this facility for child care. Thank you for taking such great care of our girls, Marie!

  • Our daughter has been going to Children's Place Montessori for around a year and she absolutely loves it! She is pretty shy around new people and places, but the teachers and staff at this school make her feel welcome and loved and she has progressed wonderfully both socially and developmentally over the past year. Our daughter always wakes up excited to go to daycare and constantly talks about her teachers and friends and all the activities they do together. It makes us as parents feel confident and happy that we have made the right choice for our child's education!
