We have loved our experience at Hometown. They were amazing with my oldest son when he attended. Even after he was diagnosed with ASD, they continued to be patient with him, figured out how he learned best, and made sure that he had a good experience there. Now my youngest attends and absolutely loves being there, and loves his teachers. You can tell how much the staff love working with the children there, and that matters considering how much time the teachers spend with them during the week.
Alexandria McGoronJan 30, 2023Shannon has assembled an excellent team of childcare providers and built a quality facility to fill a much needed void in our community. All of the teachers we worked with presented the highest degree of professionalism and preparedness. We were always impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and the commitment to early learning through creative play. Navigating the pandemic has been difficult for us all but I believe that the team at HomeTown did the best they could with an extremely challenging situation. When it became financially feasible for them to reduce rates or use state grants to charge no fees during the forced closure, they did just that. I would recommend HomeTown to any family looking for safe, thoughtful, and engaging child care services.
Colleen O'TooleOct 24, 2020During the required closure of the daycare facility during an unprecedented global pandemic, the Director of this facility decided to still charge families full tuition for a service they could no longer offer. They then “graciously” reduced the tuition and only charged half for a service they couldn’t offer to families who are working from home or in person and still needing to arrange for childcare OR have lost their job entirely and are financially strained themselves. Many local daycares did not charge families while they were closed, but Hometown Childcare was an exception to this thoughtful gesture. Instead they contacted the Attorney General’s office and their own attorney to ensure they were in the full extent of the law to uphold these charges. I put a stop-payment on these charges to prevent them from draining my account of funds they did not earn, and am now (months later) receiving a notice that these payments will now be sent to collections. Upon contacting the Director to discuss this discrepancy, I was met with no understanding or willingness to come to an agreement. Side note: they did not use this tuition $ during the closure to pay their employees, but rather to line their own pockets. If you want your kid to go to a childcare facility that will financially ride off the backs of struggling families, this is the place for you! If you seek a place run with morals and compassion, you may want to look elsewhere.
Erinne SopkoJul 24, 2020I was a stay-at-home mom for about 6 years, and the thought of daycare was so scary to me. The day came when I had no choice, and I am SO happy to have found Hometown when I did. The girls are all so wonderful, and they do some really cute projects and learning activities with the kids. Shannon is amazing and has an equally amazing staff. Thank you all for caring for our precious babies!
Nicole DoyleJun 19, 2020Hometown childcare has been such a saving grace for our family! Leaving my littles with such a trusting director and staff every day is made easy by hometown. Shannon, the director, is so knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and concerns whenever and the staff is so accommodating! Thank you hometown!
Ashlee BaileyDec 8, 2019Shannon and her staff are absolutely amazing! We have 2 kids whom have never been to daycare and since day one the experience has been great. I really like the security, cleanliness and hearing everything they learn each day. I would highly recommend Hometown Childcare!
