  • My son went here, the first year before the elementary opened up. I loved the teachers, but didnt like the turnover rate. My son was in the free program yet the school would charge me fees. The principal didnt know my son from other children. We had to check him in from our phones outside because of covid. This particular he was crying too much so I chose to keep him at home. The school charged me a late fee for picking him up late and he wasn't even there. The school is not that big. Yes, I checked him in then chose not to bring him inside the building. Seems like there would be things in place where u can tell for sure that a child is really in the school or not. I would say thats a security issue. Another security issue I had with the school is that they called me while I was at work stating that my son had not been picked up and is it OK that my child go with his uncle. My son gets picked up by his grandma. I called my mother, she had long ago picked up my son. How are yall running a school that holds small children and you dont know who all the kids are? Thats probably why I was getting charged fees that I shouldn't have been charged. They dont know who all attends the school. Those were some major issues I had there, but outside of that, like I said I loved the teachers my son had. But reading the comments idk if those same teachers are still working there.

  • Daughter has been coming here since she was 8 mo old and she’s thriving! Absolutely amazing teachers who care and it shows

  • My son was there since 2024-2026. The first year was good. starfish did not have much early child hood intervention support as they say. Fun events for the kids some community resources are available but nothing to help with development. No speech No OT and don’t complain or if your child have challenges rather it is ASD speech impaired etc you will receive excuses instead of assistance. My child came up missing and was at the high school I found out months later , there was even an issue when my had a knot on his forehead with no answers I was offered a shorter schedule and an excuses. Incident reports but no intervention. Only good thing is that some of teachers and support staff is good they try to help and take care of the kids. I hope other families have a better experience.

  • If I could give zero stars, I would. If you love and care about your child, do not send them here. The school may look “cute,” but that is where the positives end. The site leader, Ms. Scott, is a horrible leader who is completely disconnected from both staff and students. She shows no understanding of children’s needs and offers no real support to her team. It is very clear the staff are unsupported, overwhelmed, and undertrained. Classes are constantly closed due to staffing issues—and it’s no mystery why. On several mornings, I have waited outside for the doors to open, only to be told at the last minute that my child’s class was closed. This lack of communication and consistency is unacceptable for a childcare facility. During pickup, I have repeatedly witnessed staff on their phones and not paying attention to the children. That alone should concern any parent. Leadership is a major problem here. Ms. Scott and Ms. Angry display zero leadership skills and should seriously consider different careers. This environment is unprofessional, chaotic, and stressful for both parents and children. Leaving your child in someone else’s care is already difficult. This place makes it worse. I do not recommend this school to any parent.

  • Children screaming and yelling outdoors all day long every day. Very disruptive to neighbors. Living near this new school has been very difficult. There’s constant screaming children and this year I can hear adults yelling at children through what sounds like a megaphone outdoors.

  • I wish I could give zero stars Our experience with Marygrove Early Education Center was absolutely dreadful. Towards the end of the school year, my child was continuously harmed by other students, and despite numerous incidents, no reports were ever made by the school. It is shocking and unacceptable that such behavior was allowed to go unaddressed. To make matters worse, I personally witnessed the staff being mistreated by the site leader. The environment was toxic, and the lack of respect and professionalism was evident. When I attempted to address these serious issues, I was met with a complete lack of support, acknowledgement, or resources from the school. I felt utterly violated and disgusted by the school's response, or rather, the lack thereof. The promises made to us about the experience we would receive were nothing but lies. The site leader was completely unreachable, making it impossible to resolve any concerns or issues. Ultimately, we had no choice but to withdraw our child from this environment. I feel deeply disappointed and regretful about our decision to enroll our child here. This school failed us in every possible way, and I would strongly advise other parents to steer clear. The lack of accountability, support, and safety is truly appalling.
