The Learning Tree Child Care Center South Lyon

Learning Tree South Lyon has been an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff is warm, patient, and truly dedicated to the kids. You can tell they care deeply about creating a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment. My child has grown so much in confidence and skills since starting here. The communication is great, the activities are engaging, and the overall atmosphere feels like a second home. Highly recommend to any family looking for a caring and supportive place for their little one!

We encountered several significant issues within the daycare facility. Staff turnover was consistently high, resulting in frequent changes in lead teachers for our child, with a new teacher every three weeks over the course of approximately a year. While the facility asserts that it offers competitive compensation, I have spoken with former staff members who have worked at other daycares and have disputed these claims. Additionally, during the summer months, water bottles were not always provided outside for the children, and empty bottles were not uncommon. The building’s layout is also quite small and confined. Despite these shortcomings, the food quality was generally satisfactory.

My children have been attending the The Learning Tree in South Lyon for about 8 months. They have had the opportunity to work with many of the teachers including Miss Carrie, Miss Molly, Miss Caitlyn, Miss Jordyn, Miss Jess and Miss Amanda. All the teachers have been helping our children learn and grow with fun and engaging activities and lesson plans. We love the projects that come home and the activities they do that include the families as well! We feel our children are loved by the teachers and they love the food too that is prepared by Miss Lisa! Thank you to The Learning Tree staff for all that you do!

Update 1/29/21 - Our daughter has moved up to the Toddler classroom now and we are extremely happy with her teachers and the curriculum they teach. It hasn't been an easy year with the pandemic and many other challenges, but the Learning Tree staff have always handled things professionally and with great communication. As a mother I of course worry about our daughter's safety and health during such a time, but I always feel very safe and secure knowing she's with her Learning Tree family during the day. They have taken great care to keep the kids, staff, and parents safe during such a tough time. She continues to learn and grow at an amazing pace - already singing her ABC's and counting numbers from what she learned at school! Thank you to the fantastic teachers and Learning Tree family for all that they do - so lovingly taking care of our daughter as if she was their own, teaching her, and running a professional and safe school. We love Miss Paula, Tay, Marla, Tracy, and Lisa! The Learning Tree - South Lyon family is an incredibly caring and educational child care center. Marla and Paige do such a great job in the infant classroom - we love them! Our daughter has been in the infant classroom since she was four months old and is now one year old. We have always felt that the teachers take great care of her in such a loving and heartfelt way. It was hard for me to drop her off (and still is!), but I know that she is in good hands, safe, and learns so much! She brings home beautiful art projects and I love seeing the photos of her having fun at school throughout the day on the app. She also eats fantastic, healthy food made by the in-house chef each day. All of the teachers are great at communicating and letting us know how our daughter is doing. Even the teachers who are in different classrooms we have gotten to know and all have a great relationship with our daughter - Tay (Tara), Gabby, and Lela:) Finally, Paula leads the Learning Tree in South Lyon and does a great job keeping things organized (even when it gets crazy busy at times or there are transitions). There's always good communication and great event updates of fun things the Learning Tree hosts for the families. We love our Learning Tree family and are happy our daughter is so loved there as well!

We have been member of the Learning Tree family for the last four years! Our two boys have been on both the Preschool and Pre-K classrooms. They are amazing at The Learning Tree. They take the time to get to know each child and parent from day one. Mrs. Heather has helped identify key areas to help prepare for kindergarten! She goes the extra mile to make sure each drop off and pickup is started with a smile/hug and a update on how the day went and pickup. Mrs. Paula is a wonderful director!
