Woodlands Discovery Preschool

Top-notch professional facility and staff. My daughter has been in the infant room (field mice) since the facility opened and our experience has been overwhelming positive. Her teachers are so caring and have helped her development tremendously. Knowing she is in good caring hands makes leaving her each day a little bit easier. The pictures and updates we receive throughout the day makes it obvious she is getting plenty of attention and direct care. The curriculum is nature based and there is plenty of regular outdoor play time (even for infants!). Communication via email, phone calls, and app updates has always been clear and concise. I'm not sure what more you could ask for from a childcare facility.

I am highly unpleased with the way this school has dealt with my son being bullied in their school. This has happened over all, 8 times. Where another little boy has punched and pushed my son. The very first time this happened, almost 2 months ago, I was not even given a phone call to let me know that an incident occurred. No incident report in the procare app, nothing. My son was the one who told me as soon as he got home that he was punched in the head, along with his aunt who happened to pick him up from school that day. This was on a Friday so I had to wait the whole weekend ! Just so could speak with someone for an explanation. Whom ever it was that answered the phone, had no idea of the incident so she had to call me back, I was then called by the teacher who saw the incident and she apologized for not giving me a call to inform me. Over the time we have spoken of different matters and how we move forward, I had to request that I be called/informed every time as soon as there was an incident. As I would be “taking away from the attention the teachers are giving to the kids who are dealing with something “ but they did hold up to their end and call me every time an incident occurred afterwards. I understand there is no discipline at this school which is one of the things I loved when I signed my son up! I asked if the two kids could at least be distanced some how being as my son told me he does not feel safe around this other little boy! I requested a meeting with the school and the kids parents but I am told by the school administrators that they can not do that as it has not been a great thing in the past. Which okay, I get that. I just need to know that these other parents are on the same page as us and something is being done so that this won’t happen again! I kept getting told no about a meeting, I can’t request distance between the kids and they told me there was no guarantee that they could make my son feel or be safe.. so Unfortunately I had to take my son out of this school. In doing so, I was also told by administrators that “any 4 year old class he would go to this would be a common occurrence “ this is not the experience we were hoping for. Really disappointed because my son likes these teachers but I really feel like there could have been a better resolution.

Our boys absolutely love Woodlands! They come home every night excited to share stories about how great the staff are and everything that they have learned. They wake up every morning excited to go in and learn new lessons. The facility is clean, safe, and the staff is dedicated to ensuring that every need is met. The app that Woodlands uses gives us frequent updates throughout the day and pictures of the various adventures that our children get to have every day. Truly a fantastic school/daycare program with people who love children and are dedicated to ensuring continuous growth in many aspects of life!

We are loving our experience at the Woodlands Discovery Preschool! The staff, facility, communication and activities are all amazing! I always feel at ease knowing how much FUN our kids are having in a safe and comprehensive learning environment. We receive frequent updates about our children. The best part of all is that our kids are happy to go to school each day! We love our school!
